TCP/IP Illustrated is definitely worth the cash. It's a three volume set covering everything you always wanted to know about TCP/IP but were afraid to ask. The first volume just talks about the protocol itself. The second book is about programming the TCP/IP stack. It is more C then C++ but it has some very good information.
