How do you download movies off of IRC channels
Indeed, you do sound stupid.
Well mirc lets you upload and download files I think... im not sure if it could handel all this... if not then your going to have to make mirc open a batch file which does FTP. After that you can bring in your IRC buddies VIA FTP://127.0.0.1 you'll also need to .zip up a scene or two then everyday that your buddies join you could send them one scene at a time... eventually they'll get the whole thing.
But trust me kid... by the time you and your buddies have yall's **** together it would be much simpler just to simply buy, rent, or go to the theater. Hell I would much rather go to the theater with a lovely lady rather than stay home for hours worrying about bits and peices of some stupid movie.
i mean from irc.rizon.net
well this topic is simple. go out and by them, then your free from the RIAA/MPAA devils. lol, if you really want to know join the networks help channel and ask around. its simple enuff, most channels will probibly have bots running iroffer, so check out iroffer.org and read a bit.
im sure theres alots of tuts on howto use an fserv or ftp out there so have fun. good luck :)
mIRC is just a IRC client... you should be able to connect to irc.rizon.net or just about any other IRC for that matter. Its really great if you like to script things and you don't feel like downloading those java applets as a client. But either way with or without mIRC you should be able to setup a FTP server then post your local like this example: ftp://127.0.0.1 and if the IRC accepts URLs then users should be able to just click it and be directed to your FTP.Quote:
I suggested mIRC cause you can automate a script to announce what downloads you have to offer & where to find them... without haveing to type all that crap in IRC over and over agian.
I connected to a guy who was running an ftp server at address 127.0.0.1 once - waste of time he just had all the same files as me anyways :(

IRC can transfer files fine w/o FTP(It has its own). Download the mIRC hack called Polaris. Once you're in a room you will see banners with the file server trigger like !pr0n, type the trigger and it will cause the server to attempt a DCC connection with you. Then navigate much like FTP and download the file you want.
As far as the Specialist's reccomendation, I'm really not sure WTF he's talking about. batch file, zip individual scenes, huh? You can download an entire .ISO if you want, in fact most people do. Only problem is you usually have to wait in a queue for your turn and that can take a while.
