Lost Password

I have a IBM transnote running on a Windowss 2000 platform that recently won at an auction. I changed the administrative password and have
now forgotten it. I've learned that I can find the password by reading the SAM file but the computer didn't come with a Win2000 Setup disk so
I can't make a boot disk to run NTFDOS. What are my other alternatives? IS there a program I can download to retrieve it? Please help!

There are a number of utilities out there than can reset or change Windows passwords.

You'll need raw write and a floppy disk. All this is documented on the site above.

For future reference: WRITE THE ADMIN PASSWORD DOWN AND HIDE IT SOMEPLACE!

I would also create a "SuperUser" account for yourself with sufficient authorities to be workable for what you want to do.

I would delete guest user if it is there.
