Ok here is the problem, I can use FTP to connect to m school network from home, I can connect to AIM but I cant view webpages. I am running windows xp pro, have IE version 6.ox and have also tried opera just to make sure it wasnt IE. I am connected through a cable modem and its not on a network. any suggestions?

Can you ping any webiste from the command prompt?
Do you get a "404" message?
If so, what does it say on the very last line or two?

Yea I could ping other web sites, and there was no 404 message. But I figured it out. I called my ISP back after the first guy said he had no idea what the problem was and hung up on me, the company had something wrong with there proxie servers so I just disabled all proxies and It worked again
