I'm new here, and I'm currently learning to hack windows right now. I do know PHP and HTML and run a website based on a video game.
I'm learning how to use Linux, and I've installed it on an old Packard Bell. The computer I use for everything else is the family computer so I can't do anything to it (besides fix it).
Also, if anyone can help me, I have a problem. Everytime I try to runa Scandisk or Defrag or DriveSpace, etc. it ends up shutting itself down because it had to keep on starting over because some program was writing to the drive. I've closed every program down to explorer in the close programs box, but it still doesn't work. I know the answer will be simple, but could somebody help?

I moved your thread from Roll Call to here for two reasons: 1) no one can reply in Roll Call (makes it hard for them to help you) and 2) it's not a security question (thus fits into the General Chit Chat catch-all category). I also renamed the thread so it'd be easier for those that are able to help know what problem you're having. :D
As for your problem, when you're in Windows there are always processes running in the background (Antivirus, swap, etc.). These "extra" processes do not run in safe mode so your best bet is to boot into safe mode and then run one of the three tools you mentioned.

Thank you for your answer. I forgot to mention that I do have Norton AntiVirus installed, but I guess I didn't turn the actual program off, only the Auto-Protet. Thank you.
