Well, ive been learning to program for a while and want to write some code that actually does stuff. The problem is, I have no idea what to write. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on stuff to write for C and C++. Thanks for your ideas.

depends what you are interested in. like, if cryptography rocks your boat, do some code that does that. or some apps, like text editors and the likes. or modify some code for linux. write peripheral management software [drivers and the likes... or stuff to 'enslave' various peripherals for various things]

Write a crappy text game.. something like Drug Wars or etc... or .. umm.. write a secret l33t program that owns people online..
Well, im a beginner programmer so i dont think i could make apps quite yet, but ill give the text game a try.
