The last one will probably help the most, it talks about stealth scans. I don't know about using an actual proxy, but I'm sure it can be done. Just curious, why do you want to use a proxy, can't you just scan your network from your own ip?
Hmmm.....depending on whether or not you are the scanner or scannee (new word?), I would want to do it from behind a proxy just to mask where the scan was coming from?
Or am I completely misunderstanding the intent? I'm curious to see this website you are trying to collect tools for....how about a link? :)
Yes ofcourse there are so many port scanners in which u can change ur ip address i.e. you can use proxies. Infact a good port scanner must have a capability ot change ip address as normally if u scan a server for more than 5-10 ports, the server will ban your ip address and even if the other ports are open . . it will act like all the ports are closed.
one of the best out there is AD
http://www.AccessDiver.com
It is a very good software ot detect any security failure on your website or webserver or even your PC. All you need is to download it . .. as it is a very user friendly software.
And in the end i must say, its the thing which is bad but it is the way you use it which makez it bad, as many of hackers out there are using it for other purposes. I hope you will use it for good pupose.
Take Care and
Best Of Luck
I may be very uninformed, but I know of zero scanners that will run behind a proxy.
As far as I know, nmap can run behind an exploited ftp server, but nothing else.
If you're trying to reach someone behind a proxy, I don't think you can make it work, honestly, unless you're both behind the same proxy (On the same network, which serves as a proxy.) If that's the case, use the internal IP Address.
If you're trying to reach someone behind another proxy....let us know if you can make it work. :-)
I am confused, your motive would be to see if a person could hide their identity while inducing a remote scan attempt?Quote:
There are two ways we can see the question.
1.) Port-scan while using a proxy server (I.E. hiding behind it.)
This is quite possible.
2.) Port-scan someone behind a proxy server.
This is possible if you have access to their IP address, or can reach their real computer. If you are going through the proxy server and nothing else, then you're probably out of luck.
No, i wanted to know if it was possible that someone port scanning me was behind a proxy or not? I wasnt sure if it could be done or not.Quote:
