Phlak is a decent tool, but in testing I have found that it doesn't run on some systems. Knoppix, on the other hand, I have seen work on many, many systems. Knoppix-STD works well but doesn't have all the updated tools. Don't worry, there is an operating system coming very soon that bridges the gap.

hey sysmin, Im not being a douchebag here but i was just wondering what was the system it wouldnt run on? B/c i have had success with 3 totally (IMO) different systems. And BTW has anyone tried it yet on a laptop?

Sieve and I both develop PHLAK on Laptops.

I have a Dell Inspiron 2650, works great. Sieve has a Toshiba (not sure the model) Celeron 1.3 or so. So there is laptop support.

Any Athlon 64 Support? or Athlon 64 Laptop support?

real quick, did you guys finally remove the morphix references?

Any updated information on the PHLAK OS? I just recently downloaded it and may give it a whirl this weekend.

Has been down for the last 24 hours or so at least,
any idea why?

I have a feeling the main reason that it is down is because an american tv show called Screen Savers, which happens to have a pretty good tech following, did a special and put a link on their webpage to get to phlack and download their info so either their server has been overloaded or they took it down because of too much traffic.

I did have luck a day ago with going to the direct link and then refreshing. so give this a try also

Seems to be a pretty good distro so far, I played with it a bit last night and liked what I saw.
