Serial Port Problem

I had the following appear in the event log, not sure what it means or what to do about it:

Event ID: 36
Source: Serial

While validating that \Device\Serial0 was really a serial port, the contents of the divisor latch register was identical to the interrupt enable and the receive registers. The device is assumed not to be a serial port and will be deleted.

Any suggestions?

2. What Kit/Equipment
3. PC or Server
4. Does it have a stand alone printer/fax or something
5. have you noticed any services/facilities not working
6. What have you changed hardware/software since before this message arrived
