If you right click on an empty section of your desktop, a box will appear. The top item is 'Arrange Icons'. In that submenue there is an option to lock 'Web Items on Desktop'. I believe that will do it for you.
i tried it :| it didnt seem to work :( any other ideas?

why do you need to lock the icons on the desktop?
Just a question? Maybe there is another solution if we know the reason!

It is a question for my IT Essentials test.
This will not 'lock' the icons all it does it saves the current desktop setting for next sessions...i had a virus once which shut down my services and i couldn't move any icons (desktop and including everything else)...but so you know that it can be locked somehow lol :DQuote:
After this, whenever you restart Windows, your settings will return to their current state.
