It seems that whenever they say "we didn't do it", they prolly did it.

I don't think Aristide was a loser. The US probably did him a favor, though.
He's an ex-priest (got "fired" because he married a white woman), studied theology in Rome, speaks French, Latin, Spanish, Greek, Italian, German and Hebrew, and when he replaced Baby Doc in 1986, he was considered the "voice of the poor". Then, of course, happened what seems to happen to a lot of leaders: abuse of power, corruption, violations of human rights, nepotism, election frauds, death squads,...
Let's not forget that the Americans helped Aristide regain power in 1994 (after he got elected in 1990, but was confronted with a coup from one of his generals).
At least they removed him silently this time, without having to bomb an entire country.
Reading Haiti's history is like reading a bad b-movie... Aristide lost it, and I'm pretty sure his succesor will do just as bad...

Naw, it won't affect the elections, this is all just miniscule political fodder for a certain number of dems at the moment. It has little to no substance really, and the American people will be thinking about Janet’s nipple more than this in about..... *now*. Oops, too late, we've already forgotten.
It's laughable that the dems are trying to make a big deal about this guy, we **conspiracy theory** forced out of office **conspiracy theory**. What a joke! No one honestly believes Bush forced this guy out. Coup my rear end. The only coup that occured was the natural kind these folks do every 5 to 7 years...
Why not let the French take full control here, afterall, these people do speak French. Get our boys out of there as soon as possible. We got bigger fish to fry; e.g. bin laden and terror worldwide.

your obviously not from the NY metro area. not that haitians are drug dealers but the ones that are tend to be the most vicious of them all. drug wars, ouzies blazing a good time had by all.
getting aristide out of there saved many lives. who cares how he got out as long as he did and not for his sake.
