hi guys,
im studying bioscience and found an interesting abstract

but im not able to download it because its pw locked.
i was told that its only for students in 'erlangen' and because im studying in berlin they wont help me out.
but shouldnt be knowledge available for everyone? thats why i need your help. is there a chance to get that file anyway?

Its called access control. You need a certain set of credentials. Obviously you are not a person granted access to this particular resource. And as you state, its ONLY for students in 'erlangen'. If they wanted you to have access to it... they would allow you to....

Yes - write to/email the uni & find out who posted this.
Then write to them, explain who you are, where you are and why you want it and they may then send it to you.
If not, then since it's their property you will have to do without it.
Please don't come here asking people to get that file for you. It's breaking the law and no one is going to do that for you, and neither should you attempt to do so either.
I sympathise with your plight, but the only way to get this is by asking for it.
This thread may be better placed in GCC.

yeah ok. thank you for your thoughts. i know the professor, he teached in berlin before he left to erlangen. and i know his documents. they were on the university server in berlin until he left. and unfortunetly i didnt saved them before.
im not asking people to get that file for me. and i dont want to break any laws.
i´ve already asked his secretary for the pw and as you know she rejected.
