is there any program out there that can terminate processes at startup if you select which ones? these useless processes i hardly need are taking my memory up.. any support appreciated

Well you can go to msconfig (start > run > msconfig) click the startup tab and un-check any un-nessecery items.
Just a reminer..don't turn off any services, i tried that once, wasn't too good when i booted the computer, but yeah the msconfig option is ur best....
It is OK to turn off services... just makes sure you know what you are turning off.Quote:

There are several enabled by default services in 2k and xp that are not needed by most users...
Visit www.blackviper.com for a good list to see what and why you need or don't need specific services. I wouldn't disable services via msconfig. use the service manager.. (start, run, services.msc)
Or you can do what I do, open msconfig and google everything I don't know what they are then remove all un-nessecery items.
