Avatar Guidelines

The issue of tasteless avatars has risen its' ugly head yet again, so I would like to request that JupMedia enforce the following guidelines...

No p0rn in avatars.

No anatomical representations (genetalia (sp?)) in avatars.

No profanity in avatars.

Custom avatars must be approved by JupMedia or site moderators.

Sometimes my kids are looking over my shoulder when I'm browsing thru AO and I'd prefer that they not be exposed to such trashy items if possible. While the people guilty of doing this may be enjoying the shock value and the negative effect these avatars have on certain members, they need to be reminded that this is a COMMUNITY and they are pissing off some of their friends too. Yes Jack, I'm talking to you too....I never would have imagined this kind of behaviour coming from you....I thought you were a bigger man than that.

This is a PUBLIC site people and it seems to me that the folks who keep introducing this crap are doing their best to tear AO down and cause as much grief as possible just to get their kicks. Don't get me wrong....I support free speech and freedom of expression but there comes a time when a line has to be drawn and that time is now.

If the admins want to remove my account or avatar, that's fine with me... and free speech is free speech. That includes pr0n. And as rioter said, people violate the AUP on a regular basis and they all should be banned too. As for gay pr0n, naw. That's too special to me. All mine!

Oh, but do not worry about the mods. They are only doing thier job. No need to criticize them. They are much needed here. :D

Sorry you guys feel that way. Maybe one of these days your opinions will change or then again, maybe they won't. Maybe instead I should request the ability to turn off avatars and signatures since it seems that certain people here really don't care how repugnant or assinine their behaviour is.

Nothing would have to be added if people would behave in a mature and civilized manner....but that would be asking some folks to do something that is beyond the scope of their abilities, wouldn't it?

Neither do i .......But being a Public site i access it from public places...with people around....Some of them are underage....and not to forget people under the age of 13 are also allowed to join and View AO....

And i don't know which freedom of speach are you guys winning about...or what you are trying to prove.....Trying to be a ass is not a freedom of speech......Showing Pronograpic stuff to people who do not wish to see it is not freedom of speech........Freedom is incomplete without Responsibility so show some....

But who am i ...this is just my openion...but if everybody aggres to this kind of freedom of speech to satisfy their egos......i would like to have a feature to Hide avatars and Signatures like allenb1963 said....
