A fairly interesting though somewhat simple look at muscal tastes of IT people. Some of the results werent that suprising, but the mention of Microsoft Certified professionals listening to mainstream pop like Brittney Spears was a bit disturbing to say the least. I also found it kind of odd that developers would sway towards Heavy Metal. Anyone out there in the field have a different musical taste than what is in the article?

I love heavy metal and a bit of reggae. I listen to metal since im 12 (29 now). Ive always hated the mainstream like britney, and all of that crap. Guess when i get home and sit infront of my puters, i need metal to calm down ;)

By the way, iced earth might be comming this year to athens for a concert. I hope i can make it there.

instronics > thumbs up on the metal, and definately check out iced earth if you get a chance, or better yet check out the Wacken Open Air metal festival in germany, always a kickass lineup, last year or the year before they had Blind Guardian as the headlining act!

I tend to enjoy some medium paced techno if I have to write some code or sometimes some the chillout stream on Digitally Imported For chilling out nothing works better for me than some Pink Floyd or maybe Sigur Ros. Actually the only time I break out the metal is if I'm just bs'ing with people on IRC and don't have to actually concentrate, cause a pounding double bass tends to distract me easily.
