A Free Packet Monitor !!!

i found this cool and free packet monitor :

you can monitor every incoming and outgoing packet !!!

There are several programs that do this.

Some of my favorites:

ettercap, dsniff, tcpdump, ethereal

Those are all free too.

I've never used the program that you linked to... but it would be nice to provide some info on the progam that you link to... not just link to an binary file.

I don't think it's a question of hard but understanding first what it is you are downloading and ensuring, somewhat, that it is what YOU are claiming it is. This is the Internet and no one really knows who the other person is. It's generally good practise to list the binary and the documentation so that people can make educated decisions. ;)

I will say this however: it doesn't seem as good as a packet sniffer as Ethereal is. As I write this PacketMonitor has picked up only 5 packets compared to about 100 on Ethereal.

its not a matter of being hard to use.

Its a matter of "what the hell are you linking me to and why should I try it?".

I have no idea who you are and don't just because you say "try this free packet sniffer" doesn't mean that I'm going to trust you enough to execute the .exe you link to. Thats why you should post information on what you are linking to.

But I do appreciate you trying to help out with providing another resource. :)

They have been around a few years now, I use script defender on some machines.

The site might be worth a browse, as there are a number of tools.

I installed PacketMon but when I click on the Start button, it gives an error:
Unable to open raw socket, packet monitoring cancelled...
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

You might need WinPCap to make your network card promiscuous.
