help getting into php

hey all
well ive been looking at some tech colleges and most recommend that i know some web and advanced programming languages to graduate ontime or ahead....well ive learned html and now i wish to move into some php....im surfing www.php.net and they have alot of help but i would like to know what all i need to run php....is the installed version of apache with slackware 10 ready for php or do i need a seperate server and whatnot....

The installed version of apache with slack is ready for php. :). I've always gone by php.net's instructions for installation of apache, it's pretty straight forward. Hopefully it will work for you. You may wanna do a bit of searching cause you might want to have more things included in your configuration. Good luck.
