Kernel Inpage Error Help Me

hi gentle men of computers,
i am facin a common problem from the past three months,
sorry could not tell u all that time.

my computer has been givibg me a blue screen error.
says
KERNEL INPAGE ERROR
DUMPING OF PHYSICAL MEMORY.

this happened when i was watching star movies from the INTEX TV TUNER CARD.(internal card)
i could hear the sound comin from the movie but could see a ble scren

i have a P4 1.8GHz. 128 MB RAM, 60 GB HDD
some days back my APC UPS Burnt as well as the SMPS.
i use WIN NT. as my friend stold WINXP is not safe.
i got my electric connections checked up in my house.

now i am afraid to put the computer on. last time for its repair i spent a lot of cash.
so pls help me

NT, lol. OK, XP is safe if you knnow what you're doing.

I'd highly recommend upgrading too at least Windows 2000. NT wasn't exactly made for media, and there seems too be somethihg clashing inside. The Kernel error you have could be because of a poorly, or badly installed driver, I don't have Windows Kernel errors memorized so I can't tell you what that is for sure but if it only happens when you use a feature of that card, well, then, I'd guess it was that.

Why you would run NT on that box, well I'm not sure, XP is "The most secure Windows out right now". And the fact Microsoft are only releasing patches for Internet Explorer on XP now is more reason too upgrade.

Seriously I'd rethink using NT, as the drivers for your card working well on NT is bare minimum.

Your friend should get his head examined :rolleyes: Ask him to join AO and explain to us why this is? I'm always up for a laugh or 2 :D


That said, most of these problems are the result of a crappy displaydriver. Download the latest version and try again. It might be a good idea to check all your hardware for new drivers.
