Just happen to be browsing the treads about Xbox, and noticed this little one.
Answer: Yes you can....sorta
I've got Gentoox Linux and a version of Windows CE running on the box (CE code named Pheonix)
The OS works, but:
-A USB keyboard is not supported,
-The USB mouse works, but no pointer on the screen
-If you have a controller plugged in, it'll prompt for USB drivers and stay there until one is installed (hence reboot)
I have it on my Xbox for shits and giggles. THere is no productive reason for it to be on. Some programs run, but very unstable.... (and why would you run Word on your TV?)
Anyways, Linux works great and I use it from time to time to edit my ini files (menu options) and that's about it. I don't use the mp3 player because I have Media Center for that, and the games suck and are hard to play without a legit mouse
That's my FYI

If you're talking main cpu, the only arse that's been kicked is it's own. :p
