First I want to flash a bios guys and I guess what this will be the first time I will flash a bios guys.
What i want to know is- is it recommended to flash a bios.
Im using Asus as my MOBO P4S133 and I already downloded the update for the bios.
The problem is Im not positive in doing this guys coz this will be the firrst time I will flash a bios.
I wont be flashing this guys without your suggestions or comments or tips regarding this guys.

It depends on the reason you are flashing the BIOS for.
If you are doing it just for the hell of it, then I wouldnt recommend it at all.
If you do go ahead and do it, the things you need to check are;
That you have the correct update for your mother board,(with asus the utillity will ensure this)
That it will resolve the problem you are having (it usually says on the manufacturers web site what issues it will resolve),
That your computer is able to restart itself, without you having to do it manually,
That you follow the insrtuctions on the web site you downloaded the update from to the letter!
Its a bit of a common miss-aprehension that BIOS updates are a dodgy thing. Sure if you do it wrong you could end up sending your mother board away to be re-flashed. However if you follow the manufacturers insrtuctions exactly as they say and you have the correct update you will have no problems with it.
What is the problem you are having with your computer?
With any ASUS board I've flashed, when you run the utility, they list the old BIOS and the new one right below it so you can't double check they match the system board before you commit.
Flashing bios is a big thing. you screw this up then kiss your mobo goodbye. Make sure you have a new floppy (dont use a used reformatted disk), or the bios wont take. If you dont need to update, then I wouldn't.
And don't do it when it is stormy. Had a client one time who had the power go out in his house during the flash. Not a happy camper.

Personally I would not flash the BIOS unless you really have to, or have a MoBo with twin BIOS chips, so you can recover easily if you mess it up.
sorry guys if I didnt tell about the MOBO problem.
Here is the possible reason why I want to flash the bios.
The PC itsellf always seems to be restarting with out doing any manual shutdown. For me its really annoying when Im doing something else like browsing the net after several minutes the PC itself
reboots with my concern.

are you sure you dont have a virus that is causing your pc to restart without u restarting it? i know there was a virus recently that came out ( i cant think of the name of it for the life of me!) and it causing computers to randomly restart... there is a fix for it on MS website. i would check all available options before u flash your bios.

That is certainly NOT a BIOS problem. After all you have the same BIOS as always used to work have you not?
It sounds very much like malware, but a hardware problem such as a dodgy power supply is also possible.
I have to out right now, but I will get back to you later with some suggestions.

That virus i was trying to think of is called Sasser... make sure you arent infected with sasser before you go flashing your bios...
