I am using WinXP Home and the automatic updates options are all disabled. I have attached a screenshot. I think it is caused by a program call Safe XP after I used it. It has no option to restore the changes. How can I fix this?

Is autoUpdate disabled in the services? Right click My Computer and choose manage go to Services and see if its disabled there.
Yes it is disabled. Then I set it to Automatic and started the service. But the automatic updates options are still all disabled...
I never come across that problem before but try the website below, it talks
about configuring automatic updates using group policy or registry settings.

Let me know if it helps.
Hey Hey,
Go back into services and check out BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) and Event Log... be sure that neither of them are disabled.... If it was some program that adjusts "unnecessary" services then you'll prolly find that BITS is disabled... however you need it for the latest in the Auto Update software.
Peace,
