CPU overheating?
Currently I have a P4 3.2GHz with Hyper-Threading....
I am wondering what is the average temperature its sappose to be at because my mother board (Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro) is telling me that it's overheated....its around...36 - 39 C when im just browsing the net or chatting on msn, but when i start to game it shoots up into the 40's, my cause temperature is...in it's 30's....
I've tried to look up the temperature on Intels site but I didnt get it.... ftp://download.intel.com/design/Pent...s/30235103.pdf
I didnt get tables 5-2 with the PRB and power thing, my power supply is 350W, also the voltage that is says on my mobo is 1.310 for the CPU.
So if anyone can tell me what the average temp. for a intel P4 3.2GHz CPU is it would be great...and also if anyone can explain what the chart meant.
Thanks=)

ONe thing you need to look at is AIR Temperature when looking at this problem..
Expect the temperature to rise on the CPU when its usage reaches 100%.. and depending on the cooling /airflow in the case this can be slow or very rapid.. the better the airflow the slower the temperature rise as also the lower the room temperature ..
Certainly with the Intel chips don't let them go into the 60's from memory 65deg C is the start of the death zone..
Edit\ check that the BIOS alarms havent been fiddled with.. these are normaly set in the late 40's iI normaly set to 53-55 for my machines..(these run 24/7 at or near 100% CPU usage and the room temps WILL reach 40deg C)
