Well, I am sure that there is a lot of stuff on the Microsoft site extolling the virtues of SP2 :)
It does provide significant security enhancements but there is a slight possibility of problems with some hardware configurations (some AMD systems I seem to recall?)
I think that the main issue is that come August (I think?) you will have no choice. If you want further updates you will HAVE to be on SP2, at least that is what I have read that Microsoft's intentions are.
Cheers

Here is the MS "official" spiel:

This is what I was referring to:

ZT3000
Is quite correct..............I had got the months the wrong way round..........it is August to April, not the other way round
I guess that makes my suggestion that your question is academic even more pertinent?
Good luck with your upgrade...............and keep an eye on the firewall that ships with SP2, it may interfere with your current arrangements and is probably not as good?
Cheers :)
If it ain't broke , don't fix it. Updates always break something,
like a bull in a china shop. Wait until a new version of the OS is released
and install it.
Personally, I think we should bring back DOS 5.00. So what if it didn't
have internet access, who needs that?
If you got two computers, you could experiment with one
and install SP2. Remember to back up any thing important
to you. You may end up reinstalling Windows.
