Cisco emulator.
Hi,
I have been looking for a cisco emulator as I may be changing jobs soon and need to brush up on my networking. I have found a couple but they are fairly expensive so I am just wondering if any one knows of any good emulators that are either free or cheap.
Having said that I did find this site that seemsto be a fairly good resource :
firewall.cx

My favorite thus far has been "routersim".
I have used it time and time again. However, it is rather expensive... over US $200

You can configure various cisco routers, switches and even setup hosts to troubleshoot connectivity and etc. There are "labs" that you work through, or you can use labs provided by a CCNA lab book... or you can make your own. The commands and look/feel of it is VERY realistic...
I went in on it with a couple of people when I was in school and we just made copies. We were too poor to buy our own copy at the time. It seems to be VERY popular on different torrent sites too...

Yep I can vouch for Routersim too! A cheaper way of getting it however is to buy THIS book. It has a cd in it with a scaled down version of routersim on it. You get four routers two switches and four hosts to play with. Enough to refresh your skills and considerably cheaper!!
