What is the best (preferably free) antivirus scanner/fixer for residential use? I currently use avast!, but am not sure how great it is.
All these questions about antivirus and spyware software can be answered by a simple search of the forums.

The best one will be the one that suits your needs. Experiment, ask questions and decide. (But don't run two AV's at the same time.)
