Have you set your BIOS to boot from CD-ROM or floppy depending what media you are using?
I couldn't get a full grasp as to what are you exactly looking for, how to create a bootable disk using Nero [1], or you just want to create a boot disk with XP [2]. You can find [3] & [4] some boot disks that might be of help.

Actually, I might have mis-interpreted this, but my understanding of this is that you are trying to burn a .iso of WinXP Proffessional (installation CD) but make it bootable. If I'm not mistaken, we don't help with illegal stuff. You might just have to buy WinXP :)
You know burning a copy (iso) is not illegal.. as long as the licence is OK..
Microsoft doesn't sell CD's they sell tiny pieces of shiny paper with a number on them..
Maybe it's not a bootable version, when you download it make sure it's bootable. in Nero, go to Recorder -> Burn Image, choose the ISO you downloaded, and burn it.
Yeah well you know what I meant, if not, I meant illegal isos, downloaded from the internet, which if I'm not mistaken, Microsoft does not offer. :)Quote:

Hey acdspit00
What are you trying to/ want to do?
What will you do with the CD?
I know that you cannot be trying to "pirate" Win XP because that is so trivial you would not dare to ask on this site. :D
If you give us a few more details we might be able to help better...............I could give it a shot on Monday afternoon (GMT) But, there might be more elegant solutions?
Let's face it, you could boot from virtually anything and just fire up the installation program?
What I cannot understand is why the disk doesn't work, as the pro disks that I have come across would autostart................is that it?.............autostart not enabled so when you test it nothing happens?
More details please :)
The way I understood it is, he has made a bootable startup disc for use with windows xp but it is not actually booting from it at startup - hence " I try to load it at startup I dont even get a press key to continue ", i.e the prompt to boot from a CD.
