My name is Abu Al Marrussi. I'm sitting in a cave on the Pakistan/Afganistan border. In a little corridor off my main cave is a large part of my organization's financial assets, about 4.5 million imperialist US dollars. I'm clueless about computers and the internet but I did see Yahoo once when I went for a meeting of my terror group. I am monitoring the western press, specifically the imperialist American press. I noted with interest on several occasions that there is some concern over the ability for my group to do damage to the west by destroying this internet thing. My research indicates that there are people out there in the west who know about this internet thing and are already attacking it daily. Further research into the western press indicates that some of these people have very powerful attack systems - they call them buttnetts or something. The imperialist American press indicates that some of these people have buttnetts that number in the hundreds of thousands of jihadist butts. It also indicates that these people rent their butts for money. I also read an interesting article about how few points of attack there are to destroy this internet thing - they call them rooted servers or something, (though I have no idea why waitresses would be so important to this internet thing). I have to conclude that hundreds of thousands of butts could easily destroy so few rooted servers and if not we could recruit yet more jihadist butts. It might cost me more to do but if it does the damage to the imperialist Americans that they fear then my jihad may be complete. I will be discussing this with Usama at our next meeting......
Shall we just keep giving the enemy a road map to our own demise? Terror is not the act itself, it's the fear of the act.... Is our own press not a terrorist organization in that it keeps creating fear by telling us how dangerous it is out there?

It's capitalizing on the sales generated by hype and fear. This is one of the things I envy from a more socialist form of government...although they aren't that swell either. In fact, many forms of government sound very promising in theory...very few of them turn out to be in practice.
I agree, they seem to be giving away the family jewels with ideas for terror attacks...but then, so do most episodes of CSI or Criminal Minds. Did anyone see that Criminal Minds a few weeks ago, where the girl made an incindiary bomb (like the term "Blog", I hate the term "IED") out a lightbulb? F---ing scary. But then, you can make pretty destructive pipe bombs out of stuff you can buy at the Krogers down the street.
Finally, do you *really* think the FBI will be giving away info on what they have and have not discovered? Yes, I know... <insert joke about government stupidity here>... but I give them a little more credit than that.

Case in point. When I was a young Hoss, we would make our own explosives (yes, pipe bombs) and it was called juvenile mischief, not an explosives lab.
Our jr. high school had a shooting club. If you brought your 22 rifle to school, you were called a target shooter, not an armed gunman.
When we threw rocks at metro trains, we were called stupid kids, not urban terrorists.
Today, the media and America as a whole has redefined how we see ourselves and also project this poison to the rest of the world. What would you do if you were China or another aspiring county looking to become a super power? By the looks of things, we've tied our own shoe laces together.
Now, as for cyber terror and the like. You can bet your arse that not only has it been carried out already, it's being planned as we sit here. The FBI and other national security affiliates aren't going to tell Joe public that thousands of foriegn nationals are working around the clock trying to steal nuclear secrets (although CNN may tell you).
I have seen first hand attacks that are designed for no other purpose than to steal Govt. secrets.
Before I get too worked up, I'll stop here. The point is that we allowed the media to go insane for the sake of ratings and we've allowed the fabric of America to burn over the false flame of public righteousness.

NOTE: I said "played".... because that was what it was... play. It was innocent experimentation with no malice intended... Ok, during our "experimentation" damage was done..... but the intent was always "I wonder what happens if you place this pipe bomb in this hole in this tree..... wow.... the tree fell down.... Why is that man so pissed?..... why is he running this way? Oh Sh*t... Ruuuuuun....." :D

New York City, then I was transplanted about 22 miles north west out into the burbs.
It was nice in the burbs. Plenty of things to get into. Over time, the "city folk" came out that way and before long things went south.
