Internet Explorer problems

Im buddy is running windows and internet explorer.

Theres an online bank that he is a member of . over the last few days he has noticed that he can't access the secure section ( the section where you add passwords, username to get access to the member section of the online bank) . when he clicks the link for the secure section it comes up with " page cannot be accessed please check your security options such as SSl, TLS).

Ive check these options and they are fine. He can access other webpages so im passing the question to all here to see if anyone knows what the problem is ?or how to resolve it.
I even dropped the security level down to low to see if that would work but it didn't.

Maybe a version thing...or a patch needed...does he have the latest SPs for both the OS and IE???

Try adding the site to the trusted zones...

Or reset you IE security settings to default and see if he can access then??

Or get your friend to get in contact with the particular bank, as it could be an error on there side.
And if it is an error on there side, then they should be able to disclose information on how to access the particular site once he/she has verified there details.

You could also maybe try a different browser.

The bank in question works fine on my computer and worked fine on his until a few days ago.

I even tried reseting internet explorer settings aswell as adding the site to trusted zones but still no luck.

What im thinking right now it to unistall explorer and re-enstall with the latest version.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Dont uninstall explorer....your just asking for trouble...so mant things are tied to it...why do you think MS was in court???

Do you have the latest updates for explorer??

What version of explorer are you running??

Have you cleared the cache and cookies??

Are you using a short cut to get to the bank?? Try going to www.mybank.com and the online banking section through the banks main site (replace mybank with the banks url)

Do you have a firewall??

Have you checked for malware??

What changed from when it worked to when it didnt???
