IPv6 - Privacy and anonymity invasion or not?
In his thread *here*
The AO member clarifies the necessity and use of IPv6 but are there more serious ramifications?
Reading this article, here makes it seem like there exists other aspects of IPv6 implementation that need to be considered, especially for the democratic and relatively free west that allegedly promotes freedom of speech and media.
Im no expert - Iv done some cursory research only - Is it really possible that the induction of IPv6 could mean dispelling with our privacy and web anonymity? How exactly would this come about? Is the West really entertaining this? It scares me!!
Proactive, in his thread linked to above, makes fairly clear that there is a definite future necessity for change and expansion in this area - but does the implementation of IPv6 mean that specific individuals can definately be traced over the net or does IPv6 merely make it possible for more stringent governments to trace 'enemies of the state'?
This is all rather worrisome to me - love to hear the thoughts and facts of the community on this one.
