What's troubling is the quite cover up by the gov't (FBI) and how the whistleblower's were treated, it's no wonder no one want's to blab about stuff like this, no protection, makes you wonder just how much worse it really is?

could be something like this should be kept hush hush! there might be others .gov is investigating and they might destroy evidence and make sure all their tracks are covered if they thought things were getting hot.

being our first "real" natural disaster in moderen times a reliable protocol couldn't have been set. with that as a given id rather see a few make ileagle profits than the needy go without. we'll catch up with the slime.

Myself I think the larger issue is the intimidation used against the whistleblowers. Society has this weird fixation with rats/squeelers etc, myself if your Mafia/Organised crime then yeah I can see a need to keep your yap shut...but for someone who is innocent and witnesses a crime, they should have protection, but seeing as how a lot of civil servants are on the bottom of the totem poles, it will take an extremely strong person to "tattle".

I spent 20yrs in the Military, and I know that abuse was being done at every level, but as a private, what are you going to do right, if your in it for the career a move like that could kill it in a second.

We would occassionally sail on deployments of anywhere from 2 to 5 months and prior to leaving the Logistics Officer and Payroll staff would calculate the payroll for that period of time, so with a crew sometimes of at least 275, you can bet that 5 months of payroll is going to be huge, well we don't carry the full amount on board, so they arrange to transfer these funds from Banks to Banks, so say we are going to be in the Carribean for 3 months, the funds get sent to Nassau Bahamas, and sits there for the 3 months, well like every bank, a huge sum of money is going to accrue interest...who gets that???? I always wondered why the snotters had the best parties...lol...might not be easy to prove, but who's going to upset the apple cart.... :cool:
