Win2003 com1 and accessing Cisco devices problem issue

I have got my laptop Dell D620 with win2003 server (SP1) with all updates , I have been experiencing this issue when I try to access a router , pix, IDS, I can not.

I though that the problem with cable, or a device itself, then when I used another PC with XP (not 2003), there was no problem.

It happened , I have installed the fresh copy of win2003 on my laptop, still the same problem is going on.

Please pay attention that this happened in two incidents : before installation fresh copy of win2003 and after installation !!!!!

Do I need to do some specific configuration to com1 port ?

I used HyperTerminal and SecureCRT

9600baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and NO FLOW CONTROL.
