Not sure where to post this, but there is always someone who knows **** on this site :)
I want to build or get an SMS interface for a pc that will take scripts from a webserver and sms them to registered users. Much like an offline IM service would offer, but I have no idea how they do it.
I have a cellular modem (bb 7100) but have no clue where to start.
Any ideas?
Well, you'll need at least two things.
1. SMS Gateway
2. some way to send it. A server side app or script, etc.

You really didn't give us enough info. What kind of webserver? What platform? What scripting languages? Did you want to run your own SMS gateway or use someone elses? etc.
I would prefer to run my own sms gateway with a celular modem. Platform isnt an issue as i can support most. Scripting language would be php preferred, but can also accomodate perl/cgi.Quote:
