Actually there is value in the defacement reports. You can clearly see, by patterns, where organizations are failing to secure their internet facing web apps.

What good is this information to someone who'll only get defaced twice by the same exploit (and not even care about it.) And even more to the point, statistics are useless esspecially when the information is trivial and unsurprising.
Even if they did shutdown and defacements dropped even to a minor extent... wouldn't it still be a worthy trade-off?

2- the results of the statistics and the comments on Slashdot are the clear demonstration that people STILL don't understand that given the vast majority of intrusions being performed at application level, it's pointless whether the attacked server was running windows or linux and apache instead of IIS.
