I was just wondering how everyone came up with there name/handle, i'm sure that some guys have an interesting story to tell

I chose my particular handle because I wanted something that was computer-related. A null terminator (\0) is used to close strings in C/C++.

Rogue comes from the mod to my fav. game. . . Rainbow6. Mod is RogueSpear. The Spy part. . . well. . . . Im not authorized to release that kind of information to civilians. ;)

I used to be burly_tuner (aka big joint) was getting tired of it...started just typing random stuff into notepad at my buddies house (I was bored) and tripstone came out of my brain through all the channels it takes through my fingers and onto the screen...liked it so much...that i ve had it ever since...7 years now...but i noticed now that there are other tripstones out there...i dont remeber seeing them until a few years after i got mine...so i like to think of myself as the original tripstone

My name came from my cat (yes, I know.. lameness). Originally, back in 93 it was Mittens (the cat's actual name) but while on IRC someone else said that he was Mittens and was recognized as such. He asked if I would consider changing.

I thought what the hell and added the Ms to refer to my gender. ;).

Nowadays I'm pretty much the only MsMittens I've ever seen online and even have a vanity domain. ;)

Mine is actualy kind of stupid, when i was a lil kid i used DoMe95 as my AOL screen name (Do Me, hehe i was a kid)
and well after a while people started calling me DoMe and then it evolved on to Dome, kind of lame, but hey how many "Dome" do you know???? I have never seen any.

Hmm... anyone else every play Sierra's online game The Realm? It has since been tossed over to "Codemasters" or something. Anyway, I was one of the original beta testers... I stopped playing quite a while ago. It was an online multiplayer RPG, basically. Not 3d, however. Anyway, I was trying to find a good name to use and I thought about Teran from... what was the book? I think Ursula Le Guinn was the author... black cauldron something. Anyway, I wasn't super-enamored of the character, but I decided to use Terran. This was before starcraft came out and everyone suddenly got the impression that ANYONE using that name was automatically using it as the latin meaning and was also 'stealing' it from starcraft.

Anyway, I decided to henceforth use Terr, since that's what everyone used as a nickname for me anyway on the Roleplay chat channel in the game. (Channel 2)

The [HvC] tag is from when I was in Tribes (1) (Online First-person shooter, teamplay), so it's not a permanent fixture to the name. I just use the tag because... well... I forget. HvC is short for Havoc, which is the tribe/mod which I had a lot to do with. If the site is up (another HvC guy runs the server, and it has occasional outages) You can see the Tribes 2 site of it at http://www.havoctribe.org , which is my work, or the Tribes 1 site at http://www.planettribes.com/havoc/ , which is not mine.

my handle is pretty self-explanatory. i'm not really a psycho, though, just... weird. and i didn't want to use my other handles.

I've always liked Alcatraz, the place, and the two movies involving it that I've seen. The latest was 'The Rock' which was a very good movie. Plus, I just like the sound of it.

anyway...a few years ago i was starting to play Half-Life and got into TFC(online multiplayer class based teamplay mod for HL...mostly capture the flag type stuff.). i used to go by PoisonFr@G, for poison frag. i liked it cause you could infect people to kill them. everyone thought it said "poison frog"...i didnt like that and decided to go with something else. one of the spray-paints they had in the game was an eight ball so i wanted to go with that...the problem was that there were like a million "EightBall"s around, so i wanted to be different. i changed the Eight to the number 8, the a to an "@" and added the "*" just for good measure, hence 8*[email protected] have never seen anyone in any game with that exact spelling of the name.

How i got this one was kinda kool,
Almost all of my friends are breakdancers, and breakers usually have bboy names that are really similar to hacker's handles...

Anyhow, we were talking about that one day,
and someone asked what my friends name was originally,
and I said 8trak.

Then everyone told me that i was wrong, and that they couldnt remember anyone called 8trak, but it was cool.

So then I was 8trak.

Just somthing that spilled out of my head one day.

A couple of years ago I went to go see a movie with a friend of mine and there was some trailer (I think coke) where it was like a black and white cartoon thing, its hard to explain. Then a "Shmoo" was drawn on the screen, it looked like a seal. Its the way it was said though. It was just ****in hilarious. Afterwards as the years progressed, if we were playin a game or something the kind where you would have to input your own name; then we would always put like shmoo. :rolleyes:

Well I dunno if you have ever played a tabletop minature game called Warhammer 40k but its the name of a assassin in the game. I used him and won many a time and went online to find out what his name (Eversor Assassin) meant and found that in Latin

eversor: one who destroys

So I choose it because I have a bad tendency to break stuff at my jobs and such (on accident) plus me and alcohol put together make it worse so there you have it.

I put two words together free, and On because I was young and stupid. Plus My refigerator used to leek, and I once drank freeOn from a car and had to get my stomach pumped. I have a whole in my throat from it but, I figure it's just another place to put a cigarette. I can blow O rings out of it to. That's my main trick.

i get my own from, well there has been many "generations" of the name,

1st- EEK, my last name starts with an e-i-k, so all my friends call me eek

2nd- EESYEEK, i was trying to get a name with eek in it for aim (pathetic i know) so i took the rapper's name eesy-e and placed eek in it for eesy-eek

3rd- EESY, i started to dislike the name eesyeek, so i dropped the eek part and just took eesy, i was going to have a biblical name like cain (first murderer) or abel (first murdered innocent) but i like eesy too much, and i have found on any internet account it hasn't been taken, so its safe to say its original

in vb cmd stands for command. usually when you name a command button you name according: cmd_Nameofbutton

well I was programming and watching the xfiles and scully called maulder "Spookie" And it stuck with me. Over time I've dropped the "ie" thus creating Cmd_Spook

Now Cmd is also the short for Commandor for the Army. That is why I picked the icon I did.

my post came from me being bored one day. i wanted something original, something that looked like it could be a name but a better a handle then name. i wanted something that conveyed my feelings at the time (anger) and Hav just came out. so the begining of havanger was had. that was about 3 years ago.
