I have 6 gmail invites (for the first 6 ppl that PM me) so that ppl can test gmail security (interface, sniffing, and general security with what data the ads are really taking)
i will post again when all 6 are gone
To the 6 ppl who get these, please post your findings so that we are better able to determine (as was stated in a previous post) "is gmail creepy"
In the PM please include your e-mail address (if you don't put this in, then i will skip over your request)

b) not sure what security has to do with your ass, BUT, i do remember that there was a post about g-mail brute forcing AND there was one about how it scans your e-mails for key words in order to give you custom advertisements and i wanted to see if anyone found anything else -- and if someone wanted to try but didn't have an account, i was offering some of my invites
c) why go to google if they are offered here (extra/unnecessary work IMHO)

All you are doing is duplicating an already duplicated thread under the pretext of security. Really the only thing it has to do with security is you giving out your email addy to complete strangers, not very secure minded is it?

I tend to believe that they used their beta testing as marketing tool as much as a beta test. Hell, even full-disclosure ended up with dicks clogging the list with "wanna gmail invite". I do give google credit for it though, whomever thought out the idea and implemented it deseves a raise, or maybe a kick in the pants for all the spamming that has come out of it.Quote:

It will be interesting how they handle the "illicit" use for gmail though because of the size of the storage it is quite useable for warez. http://www.maileet.com/ is a good example (there are others too). It cuts the file up ala usenet binarys and mails them. The file is encrypted so its a hard thing to prove misuse. It would be quite funny if Rediff,spymac,google...... become massive warez dumps (its being done right now by many people) The bandwidth savings on distribution could be quite good, cc you emails to 10 people or so and rather than 10 gigs its down to 1

Accept or Decline funtion. Everyone talks the talk and not many walk the walk.
If it is a small challege without any kind of legal problems involved you should be able to challege someone and if they can complete it. Have some sort of AP pool to distribute.

There is no mention of anything security related in the first post, not a mention of found sploits, tricks nada just an offer of gmail invites "to test security". How is that any different than the other 4 threads? (that were posted in the proper forum.
I had high hopes when seeing 22 posts to this thread this morn, but nahhh it has fallen into complete banality as so often happens here. I wish someone did have something interesting to say regarding the usage of gmail for warez or something at least of interest or value , anyone?, anyone? probably not . so far, i have found that google has seen this and from what i have noticed is that there is a 7.5MB cap on file sizes allowed.
furthermore, as far as the ads go, google has made it so that you cannot use adblock to take out the "iframe" that has their ads in it

My FREE email account has over 60Gb of space spare, (more if I clean up the server).... No, it's not my work addy.... It's mine... all mine... Actually, i too tend to use my own email server. I think web based mail is teh suck. The gmail account just sits and is occasionally pulled out to wave in front of envious nerds.

Gmail opens a new tech. to warez trading. I could easily fit a couple of game ISOs into a gmail account and send them to other gmail account holders.
I don't understand how they would fit an ISO on Gmail because there's a 10MB cap on attachments. :confused:
