Does anybody here know how to get bloodstains out of a carpet?
yeah you clean it up :p
It's commercial carpet... the really dense and durable kind.
Era works good use it with a scrub brush
Well, first you need to get a very heavy cleaner. I mean I'm talking bleach here. And you need to.... Heh, are you going for taking out any DNA evidence form it as well? That takes a lot longer, Hydrogen Peroxide, Simply pour the solution on the carpet, and it will bubble and fizz as it removes the blood. Blot with a damp cloth, and continue applying solution and blotting until the stain has gone.
That would leave a big white spot on a brown carpet. I'm mainly going for cosmetics, so bleach and peroxide is out. I need to make it look like nothing happened.
I know you are going to hate me for this
Did you ever hear of the word google :P
peroxide should clean it as already posted and it shouldnt leave any stains... since its not a bleach...
If you are really against that option try using ammonia (at least that will kill the DNA) but leave the ammonia on for about 5 min then rinse with COLD water and blot it off with a kleenex as it will soak it out better than paper towel
Spyrus shame on you old chap!!!, hydrogen peroxide is a bleach..............it is an oxidising agent ;)
Striek these amateur chemists..........they forgot to mention the equal proportions of liquid oxygen ;)
Many years ago I was at a shutzenfest in Munster and was talking with this former Luftwaffe technician...........he was on the Me163 project...................apparently a guy had made a mistake with the hydrogen peroxide and liquid oxygen (the fuel for these little ram-jet fighters)............as he put it : "we had to put sandbags in the coffin, for appearances sake"
OK...................serious now (? :D )..............please try some antistatic foam cleaner.............like you use on your screens and stuff..............two or three applications, then mop it up with tissue.
It is pretty good.............
We have a product over here called "Cillit Bang"..........another oxidising agent, but won't move the dye out of the carpet.............
Next time, butcher your deer in the garage?
dambed.. I had an audio file about this.... Some telemarketing spoof.... where the heck is it..l
Warning: Do NOT use Warm or Hot water to clean the blood! It'll set in and you'll never get it out.
Try cold water (colder the better, put ice in it) mixed with oxy-clean. No bleaching effect, minimal scrubbing - don't soak the area or it'll just seep through the carpet and damage the floor beneath. Wet it down until it's nice and damp, then hit it with a scrub brush, then rewet and repeat until the stain's up... then be sure to sop up whatever moisture you can with towels.
Good luck to you!
OK,
No jokes here, The "oxy clean" that Mr. Ice refers to is probably the same as my "Cillit Bang"
Another approach might be to get some tepid water and a biological washing powder............make a very strong solution...........then let it have a go?
I am trying to preserve the fabric colour here?
Cheers
I'm not the kind of expert on these matters but i'd suggest you to use nail polish remover on it.
But i'm not sure what you'd end up with.
Hi Nihil, two years ago in my grade 10 my chemistry teacher taught me about bleaching effects of Chlorine and Hydrogen. He said Chlorine has a permanent bleaching effect whereas Hydrogen has temporary bleaching effect. For eg, Paper used in newspapers is bleached using hydrogen. Ever noticed why it gets yellow as it becomes old.Quote:

Getting to the point IMO diluted with Cold Water it can be used for the purpose.
and please don't blame me and correct me if I am wrong. Thats what my teacher told me.
cheers!!

Since we are talking about blood here my solution has always been to burn the house and jump the boarder.
I've always been a big fan of the Bissell "Little Green Clean Machine"...if it can pull up red wine and 3 yr old coffee stains it might knock a dent in the blood.
Hi :Singh:
I would say that you are right. Chlorine and ammonia will damage the carpet............we do not know if we have mineral or vegetable dyes here, but I will guess vegetable, on the grounds that that is the most cautious assumption.
Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent, and is widely used in hairdressing...........back in my youth (there were volcanoes and dinosaurs then) :D one would hear the somewhat insulting remark: "peroxide blonde", meaning a young lady whose hair colour came out of a bottle.
I have just discussed this thread with my wife  apparently, you use a peroxide bleach, then the hair colouring dye these days.............
I would still say, try the foam cleaner that we use in IT, then try a strong solution of biological washing powder................
Actually, allenb1963 just brought a few tears to my eyes...........the "Bex Bissell" carpet and upholstery cleaning devices.............hell, that is mid-1950's
Errrrrrrrrr................nail varnish remover?..........."acetone" to the cognoscenti............no good at all...........blood is biological, and that is a chemical solvent.
Cheers
Enzime based detergents work wonders on blood..
Here in NL we have Biotex I'd bett there's something simmilar in the states.
BTW: weird how these geeks know so much about blood cleaning ;)
the_JinX
I think that you are spot on................the enzyme based biological detergent will "eat" the biological stain?
The only other concept that I would factor in is the static? that is why I suggested the antistatic foam?
:)
Well crap... I guess I should have thought more about peroxide being I have watched people put it in their hair and then complain about the sun burning their scalp for some odd reason...
Sounds like nihil will have you in a chem lab in no time mixing up some form of a concoction Im sure.
When you get done with that method i'll put you in touch with my friend big fat tony... he said he knows all kinds of tricks for cleaning up blood from any surface/article... I have yet to understand how he figured all this stuff out??
Loads of info on enzyme based detergents http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/biology/enztech/detergent.html
I don't know how problematic static will be..
Mix a mild deturgent with milk. I'm sure I read that milk is good for cleaning blood stains.......On the other hand, I some times think that dementia is setting in.
You might want to replace the carpet or at least lift it up to make sure no blood has seeped through.
A UV lamp should show up any little flecks of blood that have splashed away from the main stain.
Those arteries can make a right ol' mess especially if the heart is still pumping when you slice 'em.
You might want to burn the clothes you were wearing also.
Alibi?
I think all this could be considered aiding and abetting ???
I'd go with Oxy-Clean or Resolve.
Or, clean it with bleach, then get some brown Rit Dye to color the carpet back properly.

NOW!............don't you go getting all silly on me ............have I mentioned:Quote:
I think all this could be considered aiding and abetting ???
1. A "turk's head brush"
2. A pot of "Motty Paste"
3. A bottle of Hoppe's #9
4. 50 rounds of FMJ?
Ballistics are optional, just have a spare FIRING PIN............and pick up the casings?
:D
Go with Oxy Clean
http://www.ascleanedontv.com/oxyclean.html (example)
I remember they had a billboard in my area stating the following:
"Oxyclean; making sure parents did not find out about their kids parties since 1980 something"
Got a chuckle out of me, but that stuff works good.
oxyclean!!! It takes out anything!
I had just gotten brand new carpet in my bedroom. I had a whole bunch of liquer bottles filled with the highlighter guts. It makes the water turn colors and the cotton spreads out. Under a UV light... its wicked cool.
Anyway... I put them all in this box at the top of my closet. You can guess what happened. I tried to take down the box and the bottom fell out. Three broken bottles, blue, green and red. HUGE stain. I tried every cleaner out there and none even touched it.
I got some oxyclean and it was gone just a couple of minutes later and the carpet looked like new. It didn't discolor it or anything. (grey carpet).
I've since been swearing by it. I have two huge tubs of it. I even throw some of it in with my clothes when I do laundry. Never touches the color and it gets everything out.
I'm going to start a carpet cleaning forum. You guys know more about that than computer security ;).
Oh there is a better way to get users out of your way than a butcher knife ?
I prefer a backhoe if I have a lot of space OR.... if we are in confined areas I try to carry a power supply with live current to shock them out of the way... then I just have to worry about that burning hair smell and a couple of charcoal spots here and there
I just have two words for you.....
dirt cellar
:D
And, yes, oxyclean should do it.
Funny how nobody has asked what happened?

I'd rather remain blissful in my ignorance...
What happened to Streik?
Short answer. He's a dumbass.... He should know better than to attempt to take out the trash.
STRIEK.... That's what women are for...
Roll the body up in the carpet and dump it in a big hole. Construction sites are prefered, maybe with a couple of tons of concrete.
Hey, it worked for the Mafia.
Nah, freeze the body, chop it up with a hacksaw and then feed through a woodchipper into a lake with lots of fish. Remember to get rid of the teeth and jewelry coz they can go through whole.

DUDE!!!!! ME AND MY BEST FRIEND CAME UP WITH THAT IDEA LIKE 6 YEARS AGO!
Hahahahahahahha someone actually has the idea of using a wood chipper, lololol.
Being the co-owner of a dry cleaner, take it to a dry cleaner, I don't know about the U.S. (but I suppose they are more modern than we are over here..) but we have a stain-remover for all kinds of stains. If not google told me to do this: http://www.fabriclink.com/carpet/Blood.html
Was it in Snatch? " the Orible bastard", talked about getting rid of a body by feeding it to pigs.Quote:

1. In certain societies humans are referred to as "long pigs"........apparently we taste like pork?
2. In the 11/12/13th centuries, one of the most common causes of infant mortality in Europe was being eaten by the local herd............
This is probably why the male of the species became accustomed to taking out the trash?
:D
With the responses hes gotten I want to know if any of this crap has worked??
if not im gonna have to set up a lab at home and start testing... I never really wanted a roomate anyway ;)
