Or...did someone make it up for you???
and why???
If you reverse the letters of my nick, it reads evitagen. I've been involved in the Evita Perón Genetical Engineering project since August 26, 1952.
Exactly one month after the tragical dead of Eva Perón, the Spiritual Leader of the Nation of Argentina, the Evita Genetical Engineering project was founded by some leading companies in the genetic engineering-business, including names such as Negatiine (North European Genetics Agency, That Is In the North of Europe) and EURO-GHWC (European Union Rock On, Genetics Here We Come).
On August 16, 1958, our Bay City, Michigan, US-department, reported an almost succesfull reverse engineering attempt, dubbed Madonna (Michigan Announcement: Damn, Only Nine Nails Added - ("instead of ten": but the battery died so we didn't receive that part of the message at that time).
Since then, no news has been received from our Bay City-department. The Madonna-project was put in the freezer for a while, but recent reports point in the direction of a revival.
Since the early 90's, the Evitagen-project basically died a quick death. All we've been doing since then is come together on Sundays to have a cup of coffee and sing our Evitagen O Epyt-anthem.
That's about it.

Hey Hey,
Towering over the majority of your classmates when ya start High school can be intimdating.. for both them and you.. It's also a time when you get rid of first names and go by last names or nicknames... People started calling me by my lastname (some of them still do) but one day a guy shortened it to regs (regz) and it stuck with most people... so I adopted it... As for the HT.. my first name is Tyler and I'm a Heavy guy (however I've now had people substitute in Horny and Hot. hah).. Anyways... some buddies were big into Heavy D at the time... and just started calling me Heavy T... which again in the age of shortening names was shortened to HT. That tells you how the names made up.. now because I feel like it... Let's go through the history of my nicks..
1990 - 95 (My only PC was a Tandy... no internet / bbs's for me.. I used the computer at friends houses... and never had a need for my own "handle)
1995 - My first real PC with the internet... After downloading PowWow Chat (Tribal was an awesome company)... My cousin and I had to decide on a nick... he was 1979 (Smashing Pumpkins fan)... so I took a song title that I liked... Lithium... This stuck for the length of time I was on PowWow.. and at the same time my initial start on IRC... The problem was people kept thinging I was Manic Depressive and taking Lithium.. it was seldom equated to the song. So it was time for a name change.
1997ish - I discovered the Newnet IRC network and started frequenting some of the teenchat channels and such that existed... I had abandoned Lithium and in a quick search for a name decided on TopGear (those of you who are SNES fans will get the reference)... It was the first good Racing Video game.. (not counting the god of Racing Games Pole Position... which may be agood nick for a gay chat room... just a thought).. I was TopGear for about a year... then I decided to sign up for my first hotmail account... I wanted something at friends could use and they always called me HT or Regz so i put the two together.. using a seperator.. ht_regz.. It just stuck... IRC, forums, ICQ, MSN... I used it everywhere... people I hung out with (that I met later started refering to me by it).. I had tried just HT.. it was too short to use most places and Regz... well people thought my name was Reg.
A couple years later I was signing up for a shell account and they wouldn't allow the _ in usernames... I was lost but decided to just drop it and go by HTRegz.... while their are still references to ht_regz (hotmail, and a few other accounts)... Most things were recreated as HTRegz/htregz... It's just stuck ever since.....
And now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about my nick... I'll go back to bed.. (watch soon for a post on my 19 hour hardware upgrades at work)..
Peace,
HT
I could tell you the origin of my nic, but then I'd have to kill you :ubergun:
Somewhat like Negative, mine is a derivitive of Kaleds, and since my arrival from Skaro, I have been trying successfully to evade a certain Dr... you ask Who?, well I am unable to fill you in on all the details but suffice to say that since 1963, I have moved from location to location, never staying in one spot long enough for this Dr. to find me, you ask Who?......If I were forced to divulge this information I would have to "EX-TER-MIN-ATE!" everyone and then Who? would I have to talk with..... ;)
Hey Neg,
I always knew you were 00- ( double0negative ) :D
Eg ;)
reboot!
bob was badass
megabyte was evil
and dont forget fong...
for me the loxley part was the 'Robin of Loxley' Robin Hood .......
also the house I bought back in the early / mid 80's was also called Loxley .......
so my nic has been loxley for some time ........
first time here, and I find that loxley has already been taken
me has a brain fart and goes poetic
hence foxyloxley came to be :p
[edit]
since posting I've tried to see who loxley is / was ......
s/he doesn't exist
my life here is a SHAM/e
and I REALLY want to know WTF a moxnix is ??? :)
I collect blades. All kinds.
I like prime numbers.
I hadda figure out a way to separate out the Googles of my real name and my on-line name. Whole different worlds, ya know.
;)
Negative said I shouldn't post this because it would only prove what an airhead I am. Anyway, he posted that story several years ago...shortly before we met - I thought it was true. :s
My nic? *yawn* needs to be changed. The "story" behind it is that I like math and I'm a girl. Mystery solved. To the powers that be...please change my name to anything else - sans the "girl".
Hi mathgirl,
May I suggest ... PicturePurrrfect ... or ... PhotoGem ... or ... FilmFilly ... or ... PhotoNegative ... :D
Eg ;)
Yeah... d0pp came about cause d0ppy got banned (*******s.)
D0ppy came about because it is a shortened version of d0pp139an93r, and I believe it was referred to as "cute" by some chick in IRC (can't remember who)....
As far as where d0pp139an93r came from... I skiddied doppelganger.... the origin of the nick goes back years... I just can't remember where exactly... very drunk times.
Mine comes from the fact that murchu is Murphy in irish but some oone beat me to it on paddynet. So then i modified it to be muracu which when deconstructed in french becomes roughly mur a cu = wall to butt. Or roughly Ass to the wall :D.
Mine came from highschool one day. I tended to drive a weeee bit faster in those days and didn't adjust my driving to match road conditions properly. One day I was driving by my school at a slightly-higher-than-safe speed and hit a patch of black ice with 3 passengers in the car. The car ended up skidding and spinning down the road right past the school on lunch at around 100 km/h.
Everyone says when they looked at my car careening down the road it "streaked" like an airplane. I really dunno how that description came about, but somehow it did. Everyone in the car was just "shrieking" since they all thought we were going to have a catastrophic accident (luckily not).
So the description of the day was "streakin' and shriekin'", and from that day forward, people called me Streak. I figured if a name was forced on me, I should at least be able to choose how to spell it. I took the spelling from both words and came up with "Striek", just to make it different.
chose mine because i've got tattoos on the front, and on the back.
So front2back just came to mind and i added the .: :. just for fun..
Allways beena huge fan of zombie flicks. Also when I set my mind to something only death will stop me. Kind of like how zombies just keep comming no matter what. I know it sounds cheesey but thats life :)
CXGJarrod = CXG are the initials of the company I work for and Jarrod is my name. Easy enough.
my friends and I were creating a security consulting service a few years ago. We named ourselves Level 4 Security (no I have no idea why). I needed a nick here, all the ones I have used in the past didn't seem acceptable at the time, so I just used lv4.
Yeah I know it is lame ;)
Paranoia
Many years later, I realized that Noia in a certain brazillian/spanish accent means girl....which explains all the random brazillian/spanish speakers who keep adding me on MSN!
Also figured out that Noia is the name of a certain KDE icon theme, which has caused alot of heat because people think i am trying to rip it off or something.
My nick stems from Paranoia as stated above because I am, as some of you might have guessed, paranoid, although, it has died down a bit in the past few years, gone from a paranoid disposition to I-dont-give-a-rats-arse,-Physical-violence-saves-all :P
I quite like my nick coz its short and sweet and not a common nick, although i have noticed people have started ripping it off in other places of the net, oh well.
Tangent: The whole AO persona I have here is acctualy quite old and hold a bit of sentimental value, ie; the Avatar I have now, and use all over the net, was provided to me by P2P-apocalypse waaaaay back in the day. It stuck. I even have a button with the icon on it :D
Blackice was easy -
Back in my trucking days I got stuck in a hideous ice storm up in Dallas, trying to deliver toys to a WalMart distribution center north of town, then deliver to another south of town. During the course of the day the 'skyways' (the overpasses allowing one to exit from the main highways) were closed due to icing. Good thing really, sliding off a 300' high ramp into interstate traffic in an 80,000lb truck isn't my idea of fun. To get around these closures, traffic was using back routes - small feeder roads that accomplished the same thing as these skyways.
It was on one of these that I first encountered black ice. So clear and dull was the sheen that I couldn't tell it from the pavement in front of me. I'd stopped on it because traffic ahead was backed up...and my truck started sliding towards the 8' ditch to my right.
It was the grace of the good lord above and a bag of sand I kept in my toolbox for emergency traction that saved me and my truck that day. I've been blackice ever since - it was also my CB handle btw.
Well my nic just comes from being proud of my state and knowing that I do live in the best state in the whole damn union... Everything is bigger and better in Texas ;) anyway thats it. and my custom title comes from, well i have technically lived in the city my whole life but my parents have made sure i know what the real country is so im a redneck at heart and proud of it :) btw HT, my name is Tyler too but I couldnt think of anything cool to do with it lol.
The main nic I use is Kilroy. I first started using it back in 1996 when I was younger. However, I just googled Kilroy to see what came up and this is what I found: "Kilroy is a familiar image, whose origin is something of a mystery." I guess enough said. But really my original reasoning for the name was based on Michael Jordan's "Popcorn Reel" from the mid 1990's. Nike made a series of commercials of him supposedley playing Semi-Pro ball and killing people. This of course was when he was retired after his father's death.
Long story actualy..
I once took a girl out for an enjoyable evening..
It ended up with us both being arrested for indecent exposure..
The fine was higher for the girl then for me..
So I JinXed her night out..
The nick kind of stuck.. and became my handle for online mischief..
Now it is my handle for the nice things I do..
I do have a seperate nick for michief.. one that doesn't link to my real name in a simple google search ;)
Just for foxyloxley ~~Quote:
moxnix is a GI/German slang word for Macht Nicht Aus, which basically means 'matters not'. Or it doesn't really matter.....or who gives a f*#k anyway. (I have been accused of having just such an attitude at times.)
So now you know.
[BTW....I have had that nick, in some form or other, for more years than I care to count]
Cheers Mox~
I was just curious, and I am now, officially,
it does, also, clear up the title you have at present too ..........
you learn something new everyday
my earliest nic was trotsky
don't know how OR why, just a school thing from the 60's
Pax
MIR:
Well as for me, this is the first 3 letters of my real name, and it is a russian word that means "the world", so it is kinda i got the whole world in my hand stuff!
but he main reason is that when i was at school i had a huge intrest in space stuff, so one frnd kept calling me MIR at high school and soon it became my official name lool
then when we started uni, i did not even tell anyone about that nick, but some ppl donno how started calling me like that , i was like DUH! how did u know
and with every new work i start, now almost everybody calls MIR from time to time, even though there is some formal atmosphere at work.. but hehe even the owner of the company calls me MIR ..
as for BEEE (B triple E)...
it was meant to be BEE, cuzz i was at a net cafe,i was subscribing to anitonline and wondering what nick i would use other than MIR, so that guy responsible of the net cafe asked me for some help , so he said in my local language, "kif bitdaleh mitil il zor2ta ma btihday" , zor2ta = BEE.. so i thought that this is nice and it is so common in google and not easily traced :D
but BEE was taken... so as i was reading on the internet something related to the famous IEEE, i though BEEE would be fun too.. loool ... B can stand for lot of stuff lool (6)
so that is the story mainly
Mine is very difficult to decipher... haha!
Let me spell it out for you...
I like phish (the band) hense the phish (I'm not a scammer obviously...)
I always went to the phish shows and people said I was a freak for being so into them. They called me a Phish Freak.
Phish got thier name from "Fish" (the drummers last name)
They spelled it with "ph" instead of "f", I figured freak would do better with a "ph".
I didn't like the way phreak looked, so I changed it to phreek.
80 was my birth year....
So, you get phishphreek80
nowadays, I normally use phishphreek and leave off the 80.
The year was 1997. My dad had just bought his first Windows computer: Acer, 133 P1, 24MB RAM, 2 GIG HD, 2MB Video Card, 28.8 Modem, ~$1,500. He made it the home computer and subscribed to a dialup account, too, so I was getting my first glorious taste of the internet at the age of ten. I had a book "The Kid's Guide to the Internet" and one of the fun sites it listed was mamamedia.com. I went there, and registered. This was the first time I had ever registered for a site, so I had to come up with a username. I sat there thinking for a few minutes and decided that I thought the printer brand Xerox was a pretty cool name. I thought it was spelled "Xierox", though and didn't realize my mistake until a few months later. I've had it ever since.
So yes, I originally named myself after a printer, but after a realized my mistake, I began to disavow any association with it. :D
- Xierox
I like cats and I used to work at a Bowling Center...
A very simple yet somewhat embarrasing explanation for my name. Galdron was my Evil PKing bastard of a Wizard in Ultima Online for 5 years. I then grew up and stopped playing UO, now I play World of Warcraft rofl.
Nothing that exiting I guess.
had a bunch of them. This is the only one I use anymore. I came up with it while I was 16, trying to think up the weirdest most insane sounding one. I think I did pretty good. As far as I know, I'm the only person on the net that's been eaten by bees.
And i always thought it was based on the group Killer Bee's, one of the chapters of wu-tang clan..
cheers
front2back
i have mine because i'm such a cheery fun loving happy-happy-joy-joy type o' chap
group hug everybody
3 guesses...the first two don't count. ><
My secret career explains the first half of my nick while the second half stems from some childhood toy I had, It was a portion of the name and I stuck the two together back in the day when I was signing up for AOL accounts and needed something new/unique. I have used the handle since then for all online foolery then some stupid company started using it... strangely enough its a security company. Ive been known to use a couple of other Handles as well... but this is the fav
The little short orange guys in Halo are called grunts. When playing the game, they made me laugh and I always messed with them. Started playing Multiplayer on Halo, and the nick stuck.
How many people have a reason behind their username, or do they just like their username?
Mine is alakhiyar because this is the name of my small business in cargo operations...
Anyone else?:)
It's my name.
Steve
It's my name.
