nate_k9 ,your post is what scares the hell out of me and many many other people in the world. Blind nationalism , its not a good thing or compatible with a democracy (the best modern example of what widespread blind nationalism leads to is 1930/40 germany)

Blind obedience is what caused 9/11 (extremist islam), and blind obedience is what G.W. Bush wants in return for a feeling of overall safety..
And for the second part.. What gives you the idea that Bush knows more about terrorism than any of us.. Appart from the fact that in the history of the world the USA is the biggest terrorist ever existed (think about hiroshima and nagasaki)..
For American standards Bush might be called Educated.. But then agian, with that kind of standard, I could call my 14 year old neice educated..

The Taliban were armed by the USA (to fight off communists)..
Iraq under Saddam Hussein was armed by the USA (to fight off USSR sponsored Iran)
IMHO, terrorism is a evolved form of blind obedience..
This doesn't limit to any one belief, and includes democracy too !!
I do believe in democracy, just not in the way democracy is implemented in the USA..

Isn't it Ironic that Japan is a world economic superpower, even after our "terrorist" attack? Personally I love Japan for its diversity and difference from my own American terrorist culture. In fact Nagasaki and Hiroshima are beautiful thriving cities. I found it hard to believe some youth in the American terrorist producing schools here, actually think those cities are barren waste lands. Who is telling them that?Quote:

It was an easy pursuit I must admit. It started in Pearl Harbor when on a sleepy weekend the capitalist pigs were enjoying family time and worshiping their heathen gods. The world seemed much bigger then, and it was. We had no supersonic jet liners, data connections, spy satellites or video conferencing. The Pacific was an interesting place. The Japanese had systematically fortified the tiny islands throughout and taken over and oppressed the local inhabitants at each one. They were determined and brutal in their course. It took a long time to reach any close proximity to Japan. Even now you can visit islands and see bomb holes and sunken tanks and Zeros and Submarines and ask the people where lived there, what is was like. There were many fierce battles and thousands of Americans and Japanese died while trying to take back occupied islands.
Mean while in Europe our terrorist attacks continued as we assaulted France and England. Our terrorist propaganda was known throughout Europe. We systematically attacked Berlin like cowards as we dropped bomb after bomb on their cities of war production. Even the Middle East was afire from pursuit of the bounty from the fall of the Ottoman Empire. So much death and hatred world wide for a single goal - Personal Power.
The world was in chaos, future unknown. Enemies on all sides, no matter where the terrorist headquarters of American culture were located. After all there were two world wars in just a matter of one generation, what would stop another from happening in the 1950's? American’s were “terrified” after all we are all “terrorists”
The terrorist Americans with help from scientists all over the world developed the ultimate terrorist weapon so far. The atomic bomb and they used it against an enemy who attacked, destroyed, and corrupted many cultures from Hawaii to Japan, a culture who had domination as a goal. The US used it with a message. No More.
I am familiar with arguments to the necessity of the action. But the message was heard.

When the sh*t hits the fan everyone loves to have a winner on their side. Our guys are good at what they do and when they aren't held back by bureaucratic red tape and political bullsh*t they are unbeatable.
When countries are in trouble the U.S. is the first number on their speed dial. They can't seem to pay back our loans and they quickly want us to vacate after we do their dirty work- but everyone knows who to call when they need help.
While I don't agree that the United States should implement this new policy on their own, I think that preemptive strikes have some merit. Why wait to get hit if you have intelligence suggesting that a country will be an agressor. Why not nip it in the bud before they get up to full force and are prepared to defend themselves?
That said- I can also easily see how this sort of authority can be abused. Who gets to decide which countries actually pose a threat worthy of a preemptive strike? The concept sounds good in theory- but obviously by the lies that were spewed and the perpetual lack of WMD in Iraq the Bush administration can't be trusted with that sort of power.

No More. " Terroist Americans? The German scientists in WWII had the key to the atom bomb, when they gave up on Hitler they surrendered and gave us what we needed to know to create it. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed because, we were not even in the war until they bombed us, while all our soldiers were at church, they knew no one would be there to resist at first. Of course they came with a whole fleet of their weak ships, because our ships and guns are so much better. The bombs were dropped after the gov't decided not to march on Japanese soil, that would have resulted in losses of thousands of American lives. Do you know nothing of the atrocities the Japanese were doing to humans in this war? They had the bomb dropped and all the sudden they did'nt want to fight anymore. I can't beleive another American would try to justify Pearl Harbor. We are not the terroist Americans, Americans like you are. If you want to call patriotism 'Blind Nationalism', then call me Blind Nationalist.
