Lol, Alot of words you use Bballad, are extreme left in nature based on source articles I have read and seen specific wordings used. :)
In case you were wondering where some info came from my last post: Memory. A lot of names I couldn't remember spelling so here are your right wing sources. Boston Globe, Asia Times, Al Qs own roving site, and the New York Times. Anything Israeli or right wing biased I left out as "speculation" even though some of the most reliable reports could be Israeli.
The critical focusing Muslim communities do look at westernized Muslims as polluted, but I have never seen anyone side with non-Muslim society over a Muslim state. It's interesting now that Osama is countering our US based propaganda leaflets with his own and he even states that the reason is to counter the US propaganda. He wants to unite Iraq with Al-Q and against us. He borderline praises Sadam. All a while calling for our deaths and ridiculing the effort to capture him. In fact he is making such a show of himself it makes me wonder if the focus on him is intentional to take focus off some other entity?
And why were they after Iraq? Revenge? Some Clinton intelligence points to an Iraq/AL-Q link during the first WTC bombing but that was sealed on prosecution.

saddam must have been crazier than we all thought then, if instead of showing that he had no weapons by cooperating with the UN he decided to piss off the biggest military force in the world? Sure Israel and Iran are closer, but I bet he would have preferred to fight them than the US. How quickly did we take Iraq again? He would have retained power a whole lot longer if he just gave up his WMDs or proved he didn't have any. Unless he wanted to do the world a favor by removing himself from power?

That is my point, he had to have know the US had the momentum to carry out the threat of siezing bagdad. Why didn't he comply? It's curious that he would make that stategic move. He had to have some motivation. Iran and Isreal? Could be he didn't want to look weak, but to lose complete power. Well not complete, his followers are still wreaking havoc.

crazy folk do crazy things
BTW, I was once schizophrenic, but we got better :D

Heh, I know this probably doesn't make sense, but, if you we're a dictator of a third world country that didn't give a rat's about the rest of the world, would you listen to what the UN wanted you to do?? I wouldn't.

perhaps he was grasping at the faint hope that he could bluff the US out of attacking. I relise that hindsight is 20/20 but if he did have wmd's he would have used them in the assult of bagdhad, that t ome is the smokeing gun that there where no wmd's there.

That's a good point bballad. You don't think he could have hidden them in Jordan or Sudan? Using them would have caused the entire world of western countries and probably some of asia to send a coalition in?
Certainly Isreal would have used nukes if anything fell their way.
I still wonder why he didn't comply, all he had to do was quit kicking out weapons inspectors and declaring "No inspection days" on scheduled visits. Curious.

how didn't he comply ? the weapon inspectors did get there didn't they ?

Kay, I have a house. . .if you come in my house and tell me that you are going to look around a little, Imma tell you to get the hell out. I'm in the US so if you have a warrant I have to let you, but if my house is anywhere where I control, get the F**k out, you have no say and no respect.
~edit. I don't mean to sound like I'm supporting Sudaam, but what we (the US) did was not right. We're being a wolly and pushing little countries around.
