Gentlemen, I am enjoying your posts and comments. First off, let me emphasize that I never in any point in time claimed to know it all. I am a "drifter learner". I learn and study what is on my mind. I learned about software at one point...then I got interested in hardware...I drift around. I never came to AO to find critiscm and a bright light in the sky solution all in one day. But I expect this. I came to find individuals who want to try something different. You have those people who believe in trying and those who believe it can't be done until someone comes along and shows them another way.
[Am I hopeful that down the road a technology like this would be feasible? You bet. However in this day and age... it's not just possible... and most definately not probable...]
How will you know when that opportunity/ideas comes? How will you ever know if you have faith that if you can't do it...someone else will. And that is what I am doing. In your mind, this is IMPOSSIBLE. I agree with you. But in my mind and to many others here, it is possible and about time to try something. Call it a scam...call it a well-coordinated scheme. Do you really think that someone would really go through all this trouble to devise an 11page thread?? Imagine, how all the weight of pessimism slows down progress. Quit doing that. It is not good for your mind. explore, challenge--TRY. I felt it was appropriate to defend myself rather than just ducking out and pursuing this with AO senior members who have been in touch while letting the propoganda campaign parade on. Again, I don't know everything about computers. I didn't say I did. BUT, what I have is an understanding of what I am interested in--AND--I have a idea that could one day find you saying, "Wow...I am glad someone else did this...I bet I could have done it too...". I understand why I am being "attacked". Go for it. You have every right to state your personal opinion and your professional opinion as do I. well all i can say is why not give him a chance, he is not asking you to pay him anything just sign a agreement to not disclose any of this information do it and see what he has planned.. then we will know whether he is talking crap or not..

Sounds like you should take a look at clarionet and how it functions. if that type of functionality could be added to a windows specific computer natively, ie out the box, it could have very secure communication. included in it, could be stateful packet infection that scans the algorithyms and reports badly behaving ones, like clippy did, before MS killed it ..... I also believe that the ISA (perhaps org wrong), a division of the ieee is busy developing a standard to which applications should be coded. secure computing on the os/architecture level, so no-one hopefully, can send any instructions from an assembly app to the processor that would make the processor fry itself..... etc etc ... i beliebe The anti-virus guys fixed that in a matter of hours of the code being in the wild ..... mind you that was 386,486, 686 and pentium pro days .....this may alleviate this issue. I do not though, think, at this juncture, that u, unfortunately could have any earth shattering knowledge. I believe that viruses could be stopped from propogating if all isp implimented the particular rfcs which would stop errant traffic from being generated from their networks. I also believe that stateful packet inspection is possible on all, yes all, devices that support it withou too much processing power being added. viruses, can be nullified if all standards are adhered to, even stealth viruses. if the system is defeated, the defenders of the system must react quickly, to defend the realm. right now, the system is too rigid, too slow to do so.
sorry, not to sound harsh, i unfortunately do not believe that you are a mark shuttleworth, bill gates, richard stallman, larry ellison, linus torvalds, paul allen, the bsd family, the next family, the BEos family, or anyone that has made a big contribution to this. I do not see, for now, an easy solution to this problem. Why would china want to do things in that way, why not develop their own strategies etc ... this would be on the mind of a lot of countries and companies. To prove my point, Why does one virus have so many different names in the AV community. Why do they not have the same code for the fixing of this virus?!
Humble apologies, but your last post did it in for me completely. I believe that better system integration is required for a convergant network of networks. The guys on top must work faster hell 803.11i has already been cracked, mean hello it was only ratified for a few hrs, the ink did not dry, and whamo ... now wait for 2 years before the recommendation is changed and modified ........... not good enuff..... please, do not take my post as an attack on you. I do not believe that you can hold water in your hand with a statement like that... you need a container in your hand capable of holding the water ... sadly, i see only your palm .......

Allow me to jump on the bandwagon and reply to this post. One that I can't believe went on this long as well. I am conflicted about this guy and his proposition. So let me think out loud and state things for the record and I'll throw my assumptions and thoughts in there as well.
1) His previous post makes his current proposition questionable.
2) The proposition in it's self is questionable.
3) He is going to alot of trouble to get people to reaspond but yet he is being vauge enough to make people very curious which is the nature of many people here on this site which maybe is why this thread has gone on for so long.
4) He has offered to come out to the people not in his surronding area.
5) It sounds as though he has at the least conviced most here to listen to what he has to say as opposed to the initial brush off.
6) This thread has gotten many peoples minds working in terms of what is and isn't possible.
These things, and I'm sure I am forgetting a couple key aspects, bring me to the following possible conclusions of this situation.
1) Everyone who he goes and sees or goes to see him finds out he is really a serial killer who lures his victims in by cunning and creative stories portrayed on computer related sites to take advantage of a what he may consider a weakness; curiosity. Which the byproduct of this premise is that everyone gets there genitilia mutilated and they all ****ing die.
2) We come to find out that this guy actually backs up his talk and we have a new era of internet.
3) We come to find out that this guy doesn't know his ******* from a hole in the ground and shows us nothing but more bullshit.
4) We just all say screw it and stop the thread were it is at and in a week we totally forget about it.
And here are my random and incoherent thoughts
1) What do we have to loose? (besides our genitilia)
2) I think this will not be so much a software soloution. Instead more of a hardware solution. My first thought was routers. What is a byproduct and benifet from a router? All unrecongnized packets are dropped making it a very nice firewall. ( very simply stated of course) Maybe the same concept here. Not sure how, I'll leave that up to you. Just one of my random thoughts.
3)This guy is a damn good talker.
4) I think he is full of ****. Not in the sense that he is unable to do this. I really think he thinks he can but I think he is jumping the gun and isn't taking in all things considered. It's like the schizophrenic. They really think they are hearing god tell them to piss on the guy's head sitting ont he park bench..but we know that god has nothing to do with this. The poor guy is just crazy. That still doesn't negate the fact that we believe that they honestly believe they are hearing this ****.
5) I think we should have more discussions like this.

Okay, so far I have recieved two emails from two different, FREE, email addresses. Not that I'm a paranoid type person or anything but in the future, if you solicit a repsonse from people and ask for seriously intimate knowledsge about them, then be sure to assure them that you actually exist in the real world by a REAL email address (one that can be tracked to an ISP and thereby to a REAL address) or give them a house address (aka snail mail). Any doubts should be put to rest if YOU are willing to give some info about YOURSELF first.
This is just my opinion, of course.
But if you want to know about me then you'd better be willing to have me get to know you too.

We have no idea who you're (See KorpDeath post), we have no idea of your true skill if you have any at all.
I do know your a good talker but the world won't changing because of you. I have no idea how old you're but you'll learn that in today world, nobody listen to you until you are 50 or more (Exception exist and please, don't reply with naming me all the exception, I'll neg you because this thread is NOT about that!).
This idea of virus free Internet is a dream like mandkind building a stair to Heaven!
Anythink with a computer can be crack because human program the computer and human are not perfect so the computer is not perfect!!!!

I kinda like the internet the way it is actually....i enjoy dealing with viruses, it earns me $50 a visit. Its called Ying-Yang my friend, we need to have good and evil. Without evil, good cannot exist, and without good, evil cannot exist. If we designed the "perfect" internet, then many people who work for antivirus companies would lose their job. We need viruses and hackers, and crackers today more than ever, to find the vulnerabilites in our designs. Thats the only way for technology to advance, or else it becomes obsolete.
I think its time for this thread to be closed. Those whom are interested have already contacted him so there's no need for this thread to continue on.
Although it sounds interesting, the idea in itself is very flawed. For starters, the Internet is not what viruses attack, its the operating system. A virus is just a piece of code told to do something. The way the Operating system reacts to that code's commands is what makes a virus do what it does. Again, you cannot design a "VIRUS FREE INTERNET" Because the internet is NOT infected by viruses. Viruses infect "Operating Systems". First you have to fix the worse virus of them all, the Ignorant User.
My 2 cents on this matter, and hopefully this thread gets closed.

2) Remember long time ago human assume that seeing through wall was impossible and only
Superman can do that?
3) How about sniffing a nework via an UTP cable without cutting it?
4) Brute force hack a password within a few hours?
answer 1) There are tool that can sniff and learn wireless network encryption/ password. Free for downloading. Well, if you know where to find it. So with faster computer more powerful encryption and compression become viable.
answer 2) Infrared vision. Hey, the reliability is far from 100% but is a good start. Well the wall of current building become thinner and thinner so may be one day.......... So if you are building a bath room and you have a pretty wife/ daughter. Build it at the center of your house and surround it with thermo insulater.
answer 3) Military classified. They even do that to the extend of monitoring electro magnetic wave generated by PC's monitor to peep the information. All they need is: High gain directional antenna and super fast computer to analyse information collected.
answer 4) How about RainBow table? It is a simple method that no one thought about it until the god choosen one prove to the rest of the world.
All i can say is, this may be a technological breakthrough. That would significantly reduce the chance of infection for a longer period of time. Before more people use his idea and build a virus on top of his idea.
By then he and the lucky programmer would become millionair, retired and fly to mar.
For those of you who still think this is impossible, please take up a course in advance mathematics, encryption and alien language. Remember whatever encryption we are
using now is base on at least 20years old technology. Which the math/scientist have
make a loophole in the encryption for some powerful government body to hack through
it with ease.
Still don't believe? Hack open your telephone and see. There is a slot build for wire tapping
there built for special person to use and that ain u. That tells you how old our current stage of technology compare to research lab.
