sorry :)...so why is everything else black/white?
It happened late at night and only one flourescent light was on, see the circle of light in the vid, the camera was actually in a darker spot than the picture shows. Not sure if that answers your question but is the best I can do at the moment.

I think that the change in colour and size is probably an artifact caused by the camera working at the extremes of its specs. It seems to lose colour resolution about halfway along then stays black & white. I will have another look.

Another simple experiment is with a reasonable quality marching compass. Walk around and find if it still holds true North, or does funny things. Start checking some distance from the building, and fix a bearing.
I would guess that at the age you suggest, there are no high tension electrical cables under the building :)
As for the dog, try standing it on a chair or stool and see if that makes a difference. If it does I would say that the source is beneath the building, rather than under it. And that it is electromagnetic, rather than electrical.
I will try and bring one of my dogs in this weekend, I will also bring in a compass. That is about the most sophisticated equipment I have access at the moment... ;) Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi,
A few more thoughts:
1. Are there any high tension cables or an electricity supply substation nearby?
2. Is there one of those cellphone towers or clusters nearby?
Naturally, I have an open mind, but would prefer to look at possible scientific explanations as well, if only to eliminate them. Would you test the dog's reaction upstairs as well as down.
Good hunting,
By the way, the objects that fall on the floor.
1. are they all from the front of shelves?
2. do they all contain metal?
There is a 3 phase set of transformers at the end of the block behind the building, no cell towers nearby.
The items that have fallen have been from the front of the "metal" shelves. No they do not contain metal, they are foodstuffs.
I will take the dog upstairs also.
I'll check back to this thread tomorrow, I am going home now.
Thats what I thought...Electromagnetic interference will really do some funky things...and if it is high enough, it will even make you see things. The dog would sense it though...wouldn't it? A leak from the transformer, and with enough humidity in the air, would also cause some funky stuff...but unlikely to be some red little dot going up the stairs, unless its following some pattern of humidity in the air....*think lightning*. I as well would rather look at all the scientific explanations of this, and try to eliminate as much as possible before making an assumption. I am not a sceptic, but I do enjoy science ;)Quote:

Cybr1d, I think you missed something...Quote:

It moves like a lightnening at least...not as shaky but still, it does shake a bit. Something that doesn't make sense is....how come its red, in a black and white video camera? If it was recorded, it would appear black/white, not red!?....unless somebody with some extra time in their hands decided to freak out the boss? Any other employees that work there, whom might play around with the camera and the videotapes? There's 32 frames in the pic, each being the movement of the orb.
nihil it doesn't change color to me, it just becomes blury and then back to normal.
EDIT. Screw the gif :)...in the video it seems to switch from red to black and white, then back to red, then back to black/white.

The .gif file I attached, I also created. I took a capture of the final frame from aeallison's original video, and created a new file in Photoshop. I then made 31 more. I added a size 10 lens flare to the first image, and then moved it slightly in each following frame. I strung them together in Imageready, thus resulting in the moving .gif that appears to be just like the orignal. Rule #1 of de-bunking myths: If you can't disprove it, re-create it.
yea I did miss that ;)
