An excellent find! Are there only 11 levels then?
Yeah I thought that encryption was the password at first too, so I removed all the % and threw it in the AntiOnline "Encrypt" Text tool as hex to ascii and it showed up as the paypal button :rolleyes:Quote:
this is from the paypal submission form... breaking that would be illegal :DCode:value="-----BEGIN PKCS7-----MIIHXwYJKoZIhvcNAQcEoIIHUDCCB0w~~... ... etc etc...~~----END PKCS7-----

LOL, pleased I wasn't the only dummy in that respect :)
I've just come back from an interesting evening seeing a live demonstrations of WEP hacking and MAC spoofing and learning all the insecurities of wireless networking. It was fascinating to see what I'd learned in theory translated into practice. It was a BCS lecture.
However, it made me realise how I've hardly scratched the surface. For instance, when the WEP key was found, it was in hex values. The person demonstrating had no trouble converting this to a plain text password, but I would have been stymied. I supose Google can probably do it.
Hex is as easy to learn as binary. The only hard part is memorizing the ascii values. E.g. A (capitol) is 65, translated into binary: 01000001; Hex: 41

Thanks, what a good article! Thing is, it dealt with numbering and I read it through, did the test and think I understand it. But I don't know how to convert a hex number into a word. In the example last night for instance, the network they hacked had the WEP password of "basic". It took the person performing the hack about 3 seconds to convert the hex value (it was eight digits separated every two) into that password, but how is it done?
Hey everyone :D
So i checked this out and its pretty fun (and it keeps my occupied at work, im on helpdesk today :/)
Anyways... Didnt read to much trhough the thread, i didnt want any hints or clues. Im on level six now, so we will see how this goes for the rest of the day...

Im on level 15 now. On level 14, you need to find a .gif and split it to find the answer. Hint: If you are taking the test on hack-test.com and cant find the image copy the ???.php page extension to hackertest.net/???.php and look for the image there.
??? = The page you are on
