I just noticed from your sig that my IP address has changed again. Have cable and although static IP, it seems to change on a regular basis, every few weeks or so. Is this common with cable ISP's. I have only recently changed from dial-up
I think all cable isp's are starting to use dhcp leases so users ip's change from week to week or when ever they have it set to change
If you've arranged for your cable company to provide you with a static IP then it should never change. Otherwise, then I believe that what deadaddict said, is right. You IP probably expires after a set number of days, or hours.
Or, your ISP could have you behind a proxy (or proxies) and the IP may change depending on which one you are hitting when you browse out. Check your local IP and see if it is the same as the one showing on Cheyenne's sig. If not, I bet that is what is going on.Quote:
