I was looking through my posts, and I have enough security related posts to still have addict status.
About the AP assigning though: AP's were created to reward people that made good posts about computers/security. But lets face it that quit working from day one. Everyone gives positive AP's to anything they find funny, not just security related stuff. I try my best to assign AP's to posts that deserve it.
I think that assigning negative AP's in this thread because no one likes it is not the right thing to do. What harm is this thread doing? Its not showing up on the main page, its in GCC, and I believe we are thinking about moving it to a conference room so that post count will not be affected.
Now when I did start posting in this thread I was already a senior member. Now I'm know that compared to the older members I'm still a newb, but I didn't gain anything from this thread. I just find this thread a fun place to come and talke about anything we want.

I think that this thread serves a purpose in that it keeps a lot of trivia out of the other threads? I have not noticed anything particularly untoward in it either

The problem is that everybody has a different opinion on this thread. I as well believe that this thread keeps a lot of "crap" out of the other threads. I can't agree with the "negging just for the negging" that's going on in here, though, and definitely not when it's coming from multiple accounts from the same user.
I don't want to close this thread since it's popular and keeps the other threads clean. As with any other forum, however, AP-abuse will not be tolerated. Any AP-abuse will be investigated and dealt with accordingly.
