non-sensical thread

****. I just crashed my roommate's computer scannig my network. I only meant to scan my computer. I had no idea he was that out of date. It was a 2 year old NetBios hole. God, some people are security illiterate.

I crashed my computer alot, trying to use nmap.

Speaking of crashing, at the college I go to, we have this one "major" server that a lot of the teachers files, and programs that we need are stored on. Well I was in my Management Information Systems class, and we were gonna all get on this server to download a program. Well after 10 of us got on, the server crashed. lol That was all it took. 10 people. I thoguht it was pretty funny. I could probably write a little script flood that server real easy.

Oh well.

Damn. The system at my college is secured so tight we can't even run traceroutes from the labs. They block the error replies.

My routing prof tried pinging one of the broadcast nodes last month to show us what would happen, and he had his account locked out for a week and a formal reprimand filed against him for violating the appropriate use policy, even though the packet was dropped.

Hey, at least I got my roommate to update his computer... told him it was a guy in Australia, and he believed me. He's installing 48 critical security updates form microsoft as I write this. :withstupi:

I'm stuck typing out sources for some essays I have to turn in. I have 13 done, but have to do 25, but I'm not sure what the form should be on the rest of these. I'm thinking about just not going to class tommorrow, coming up with some excuse and hand it into her late.

Cheyenne> No. I would definitely stay up as late as it takes do get it all done, and miss out on a few hours of sleep and hand it in on time. Speaking as someone who does everything late and always comes up with lame excuses, I would have to discourage anyone from starting down a path like that. It's a harder habit to break than smoking. Believe me. I know.

Yeah, he just finished installing XP SP1 and decided to quit and go to bed. That took half an hour alone, and it's 1:00 am here now. Only 47 more critical updates to go now. And 28 Windows updates.
