I used to log in from school, then I started logging in from work.
Eventually. when I retire, I'll log in from my house.

Memory, How do you check if your students are cheating while using the computer at the same time? I know when I was a kid I never studied for any of my tests because I always had a friend to cheat on. If I'm not mistaken you give a Security Course correct?
I think you mean me not Memory. Believe me, they can't cheat. Too many variations of the test. Plus I have pretty decent peripheral vision (from playing hockey) and a good ear to pick up the softest whisper (I caught a student at the back of the room once whispering to a friend).Quote:

I post from school all the time, at lunch, in the morning oh and in class too, Us History is truly the best class, students are taking notes while /me is posting :D
Yea I meant MsMittens :p Got Confused. And I bet you couldn't catch me cheating :p I don't speak at all, all my movements are done below the table (with my foot) my eyes are covered with my hair and I can hide any piece of paper anywhere and sneak it out without the teacher noticing.
Once on a citywide test, I gave my friend a pen and told him to put the answers inside the pen rolled around the ink, since the pen wasn't see through they didn't notice it and I got a 95% on that test and didn't get caught :D

i cheated in geometry, i was with my sis in one class and i failed 2 tests and 1 quiz cause of it but i still had an A in that class, but all other classes its real easy to cheat :D
i always make a cheat sheet but i never really use it lol

yea i used many but right now i am so lazy that i dont even make them anymore, but i might for wednesday, 2 tests on wed, Bio and English...very huge tests and difficult....got my report card today 3.617 GPA...hehe

oh btw: we cheat with notepad, me and the friend next to me. I open up notepade and make it really small and drag it into the corner just enough for him to see, so i type in 2 and he gives me the answer or vice-versa, and we sometimes cheat so that we put like problems that we finished on a shared drive, and the teacher can't really know cuz we change the extension to like .nfo or .xml or something.
Thats what I was doing on the last Database management test ms.mittens.
Looking at the ceiling for divine intervention or looking to my left hoping somebody had their test exposed.

What don't the youth of today study or something? How are you truly going to learn anything if all you do is cheat.
That beat's the whole purpose of going to school or whatever, so you gain knowledge..

Well I do study and try to learn it, but I didn't really get a chance to study on that one, and I had a bunch of other tests to study for as well.
That's what I wonder and what I was wondering here. I mean, when you think about it, if you cheat, you're just a script kiddie who doesn't understand and goes through life faking things. Just a wannabe. It never ceases to amaze me.Quote:

As an example this recent test is based on 3 powerpoint slides I presented on Unix/Linux/Windows. Basically the OS specific security test. It's not a hard test nor is it difficult to study for. And certainly there has been enough time -- 3 weeks. But inevidentably I get those questions. The night before the test I got an email from a student asking what was going to be on the test (eventhough I had announced it for the last 3 weeks in all classes and labs, had posted it on the schedule and on the front page, and had made a big fuss at the previous class that the test was up and coming).
They just don't listen or don't care. Not sure which.

teaching is a difficult job MsM, and who know's it better tan a teacher. During my First year gradution i started to teach in a school as a computer teacher, what i have noticed there are three kinds of students in every class one the Bright one , Who generally prepare in advance are ready with questions when you start the topic and seems to get everythig quite easily they are in a minority in the class . They are never a problem , The Second are the ones Who dosen't seem to get what you are telling them you are at "z" they will be at "d". you would have to go throught the topic again and again for them , for me they too are not a problem as you know that you would have to devote an extra bit of time on them, they too are in a minority. They third Type is the most problamitic one they one who don't want to understand and they are always in majority, You can't make them:(.
