Uh, when I got the latest copy of audiogalaxy from their own site and installed it, it didn't ask me anything except where I wanted to put it and if I wanted it to run in my startup folder for easier use. No "Do you want to install Gator?" or anything else. Maybe you have an older version because the one I have, the current one, *will* install Gator without your knowledge.
Also, I understand they have to make money somehow...hell, why do you think they have a monthly service which I've already stated I'm part of? This isn't what they should be doing to their paying customers, only to those who want a freebie.

i just regretfully reinstalled audiogalaxy and saw this
The Audiogalaxy Satellite is ad-supported software. It is part of the Gator Advertising and Information Network(GAIN), which helps keep software free by delivering messages based on the sites you view.
The Gold version of the Satellite (for paying members) contains no advertising.
i wish i had kept my original install file, sorry

adaware cleaned it all up and the agent still works

Yeah, I saw that too (the cleaning). At least it's not like Kazaa was that broke once Ad-Aware removed the registry keys. That's one point back to them but still...bleh.

I use Linux. The Linux version has none of this crap with it. Just the agent...command line interface only mind you..no GUI...at least not yet.

Well gator, or GAIN is definitely in audio galaxy client version 0.609W for windows. Upon installation, the first thing that appears is the gator logo, ans informs you about what is going to be installed.
But, if you go back one step , back to version 0.608W, it gives you the option of not installing all the junk. Though I'm not quite sure whether it did or not on my system. To find this older copy, there are still sites other than the offical AG site that host this file still, and not the updated version.
There were other previous versions that installed gator without any notification sometime ago, only stated in the terms and conditions at the bottom.
Anyway, if you download the client from teh official site, it has Gator packaged with it.
