Jesus said this: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Treat other people the way you want to be treated. There's also another verse from the Bible that I think speaks to this: "Whatever you sow, you shall also reap." When we speak or write, we're planting seeds with our words. The crop we harvest depends on the seeds we plant. If we sow harmful, hateful, negative words, we shouldn't be surprised if that's what we get in return. Treat other people the way you wanted to be treated. Maybe if we all followed that, some of the anger around here would subside. :)

To tell the truth, I'm getting a little bored with all these "behavioural" and "last post" threads...:o
Lighten up people. It's the 'net! People come and people go. Some people are jerks, others funny...some just plain stupid.....I like 'em all.....
And what's going on with all these religous quotes, preacherman481? It's bad enough that people come knocking on my front door, invading my privacy and trying to shove their religion down my throat but now I have to put up with it here at AO!?
Anyway, I feel better now.....might go and have a lay down......................... :airoff:

Im with you Conf1rm3d_K1ll. Save the religious rants for SUnday mornings, dont waste them in a IT Security Forum!!

Soggy Bottom and Confirmed Kill,
I don't want to start a flame war, so this will be my only reply on this subject.
1. Yes, this is an IT security website. But, this particular thread was not security/technical related. It was in the General Chit Chat forum. If the thread was based on Linux vs. Windows that might be different. The original post by P2P was on the topic of hate and discontent in the forum. In my opinion, hate and discontent have spiritual overtones, and I should be able to respond to them in a spiritual way.
2. Two, I am not trying to shove religion down anyone's throat. I don't condemn anyone who doesn't share my views. Please see my posts on the "Christianity" thread in the Cosmos forum. But I do have a right to express myself. I feel that if other people can use profanity in their posts, I can quote some Bible verses in mine. I don't feel that I am expressing my opinions in an offensive way.
3. Three, you don't have to listen to me. Just don't read what I post. And, I will not be offended if you add me to your ignore list. That might be the best solution. That way I can express myself as I think best and you won't have to see what I think.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in him may not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

Ah geeze...I have to say this, so forgive me.
Preacher was in no way shoving anything down your throat. He was simply telling you what Jesus said about the topic at hand, whether you belive He is the Living Son of God is up to you. However you cannot deny the fact the he once walked the earth. And said the VERY wise words...: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Good advice in my point of veiw. So if he wouldnt have said "Jesus said...." you would'nt have said anything about religion......

P2P - it is the nature of things. A good post btw. Maybe if we ignore the offenders they will leave, besides, the moderators can "spank" the kiddies when they get out of hand.

Wack... Spank them good....LOL :spank:
I think you're on the right track. Ignoring them is going to have to be the way. Apparantly they can't be happy and contribute to the group.

Are you insinuating that I am one of these "offenders", by not responding to my post?

who are you talking to Dr T? Me, p2p or someone else. If it's me, no I wasn't insinuating anything.
