It's an assload more secure than any of the other clients. All it does is authenticate through said messenger's servers and their default ports so problems on those ports lie in the original build of the messenger (example: AOL's AIM was vulnerable a while ago for something serious but Trillian authenticating through AIM's servers was not). I live on it, support it, and won't be leaving it anytime soon.
