Complaining about something that like is going to do nothing.....
Think about it... Columbine Shooting? Sept 11?
School's in the US are very paranoid about what COULD happen....
And television shows like Boston Public is not helping the situation either....
I'm not sure about the school in the south on Canada, but in the North, we are "free" from this kind of intrusion.... The worst I've seen it was a security guard walking the hallways...
The only difference is College, where you have a few security personnel walking the hallways and a few cameras.... but they mainly unlock doors for people.....
I wish all those who suffer this the best of luck, and to stay strong.... only a little bit of time and you'll get parole :D, I mean, out of school....

That is insane
Are you really serious?
That sounds almost like somthing out of the movies, but i suppose it is possible.
In fact... Im skipping Chemistry right now...
hahaha
Ever try to destroy the machines?
If theyre magnetic like credit cards then here is what you do. Put a little piece of magnet in one of the keycard machines, itll fry everyone's card that goes in it. Use a rare earth magnet from a crashed harddrive. You can break them without losing much magnetism, and they are VERY strong. They control the head positioner after all.
I dont think i could make it through my bullshit classes if i couldnt leave any time i want.
Personally, id think seriously about destroying the card readers.

What a futuristic school. You can walk out in the middle of my school...

NetSyn --
From what I read of your posts you're obviously a bright guy - let's face it, 99.999% of people will /never/ actually bother to find out what a datagram is, let alone what the 13th octet is actally /for/ - eg. syn/synack/ack.
And you're obviously enrolled at an institution that is both well resourced and intent upon using those resourses and the technology availible to them in an effective manner. Please bear in mind that this is not universally true - you are (globally speaking - not just in terms of the US) in the priveledged minority. I'm not saying you should be grateful for your education, just that you should be aware of it and the benefits it offers you in later life.
Let's skip the obvious points about civil liberties and ID tagging here, because it simply doesn't apply in this context and I can guarantuee that if I mention civil liberties that within 5 posts someone will be talking about gun-control. So let's just not go there - Ok ;)
And bear in mind that in the post education word of gainful employment they don't give detentions - they just fire you. So maybe you're bright enough to take it on the chin, as another lesson learned (take it from me there are lots of lessons in this life that are NOT academic).
You say you're in your final year? So stop cutting class, hit the books and get the results you need to go on to tertiary education where you can specialise in your chosen field. Education is _always_ painful. But it's nececary so that you can make an /educated/ decision as to what you want to do with the rest of your life.
This strategy also has the added benefit of a good job/lifestyle as one of the 0.001% of the population who knows what a datagram looks like when you finish your education.
Just a thought. :)

wow aparently i dont have enough education cause alot of that was complex ;)
lol as for takeing it like a man i am going to serve the small suspension they have given me with a smirk on my face noticeing how idiotic the whole situation is....
The way i see it is this.... If someone kills someone you dont make them kill more people to teach them a leason.... unless they are killing someone they care about... But then again if i cut 1 class 7 times their punishment is this... Because u cut 1 class 7 times we will make u miss ALL of your classes 3 times in a row so u accually learn less!
it just seems stupid to me and i just thought id share my opinions with you all so you can know how i feel currently on the situation of higher learning in the school system.

School sucks - but it gets better after that :)
Unless you married a teacher. Oh - that would be me then. lol ;)
But seriously - your education /is/ a priveledge (even if it doesn't seem so when viewed from the perspective of the individual being educated) and therefore the imposed sanction is a suspension of that privelege.
What I'm saying is that it only seems back-to-front and inside-out when you don't view your education as a priveledge - which no-one can whilst still undergoing the process. Call it the human condition, call it catch 22. There it is.

I'm surprised more by the security in your school then by the suspension. In my school, you can get in trouble for cutting, even if you don't, because teachers are too something, i dont know what. They just don't like to accept that teens might be right and they might be wrong.
Anyway, our school had it's second bomb threat of the year today, so they sent us out to our stadium bleachers while the police searched the place. And we have no organized security in our school. I've only seen cameras in the cafeteria and some computer labs. As for ID cards, noone cares about them...

Hey on your quick profile it says under the numbers of posts the following:
Is it a bug? I haven't seen it on other user. And sth else ntsa is NetSyn ?

Yeh, similar to my school NetSyn. We have a big gate/fence that goes around the _entire_ perimeter of our school, that is only allowed open for parents picking people up or kids who have prior permission to leave for school reasons. This is, of course, very annoying. Anyways, we also have cameras, and we have metal detectors at all of the entrances (except one).
So, I feel ya pain and all. Sucks to be you. Just, protest the crap out of it not now, but when they put a freaking 12 ft high fence up around the entire campus. No escaping then, and it really does seem like a prison. :(
BTW: And about what Alcatraz said about the bomb threats and all, angst-filled teens that've been kicked out of our schools do this on almost a weekly basis. We get out of school early so often it's unbelievable because of supposed bombs in our school. Our school, just this year, has been deliberately caught on fire while school was in four times by students who were angry for whatever reason, and really that's not even the half of it. My school, before I was there, was so peaceful, just the occassional fight and all. But this fence, camera, and detector business has really changed stuff around.

Now, i have it too. What is this? JP?
